Dave :)

Hi there, I'm Dave Martin and I would like to take this opportunity to welcome you all to my new page. As well as music playing such a huge role in my life, there is however one other form of art that I equally have as much passion for, and that is photography. After purchasing my first DSLR camera, which is the Canon EOS 4000D, I wanted to take my amateur photography further, as in previous years

all I've had available to use was either an iPhone 7 or an iPad, which to be fair have given me some really great photos, despite not having a camera at the time. Another reason why I love photography so much is because it gives the individual the freedom to explore and embrace nature, and just like music, photography is really good for the mind, heart and soul, and this of course relates to wildlife photography. With my photography page, not only do I wish to share my photos with you, but also I'd like to share with you the gear that I'm currently using to achieve the quality in both wildlife and aviation photos that I've taken, and also I'll give my own review on both current gear and future new gear. In the meantime, I hope you enjoy this page, my photos, and finally I would also like to dedicate this page to both aviation and wildlife photographers who have given me the inspiration to take up photography.

Some photos of the B-17 Flying Fortress 'Sally B' taken from Saturday at East Kirkby airshow, which was my highlight of the day.

Don't let these particular photos fool you, I really did struggle that day as the majority of my shots didn't come out the way I wanted, which a lot of it was down to having a terrible sky, with too much cloud cover, resulting in not having enough light, making the Sigma 150-600mm about as much use as a handbrake in a canoe, with a 6.3 aperture.

The sun didn't come out til very near the end of the day, which was typical!! ...Oh well, there's always Cobra Warrior 25-2 at Waddington to look forward too πŸ˜ŽπŸ“ΈπŸ”₯✈️

This has gotta be my favourite photo of the night.

Using the Twilight Enhancer tool in Luminar Neo allowed me to create an effective colourful looking dusk setting, and with the light trails from the moving cars made the image more dramatic πŸ˜ŽπŸ“ΈπŸŒ‡πŸŒ†

Here's a selection of photos from my last ever long exposure photography session at Pelham footbridge aka 'Scott's Bridge' in Lincoln last night.

Was great to use the Canon 7D Mk II for such an occasion. πŸ“ΈπŸŒƒ

Army Corps Boeing Apache AH-64E (Reg: ZM737) passing by Toft Newton earlier on today, en route to RAF Waddington which I suspect may well have been for a quick fuel stop, before flying back to Wattisham after a training exercise on the Otterburn Training Ranges.

So to conclude my Cobra Warrior 25-1 pics for Feb 2025, which also conveniently brought an end to last Tuesdays session, is this photo of a Saudi F-15 which I consider to be a 'once in a lifetime' shot, where the aircraft had a missed approach and went back round with the afterburners on briefly, which to be honest did kinda caught me off guard a little.

This shot, for me, had to be the highlight where I was fortunate enough to capture the moment where the F-15 reduced power and thus giving out a burning blue in the engines, just as the afterburner was going out.

In the words of my good friend Lewis Chesworth, who also captured an incredible shot of this states:

"General Electric engines on the F16 and later models of the F15 family are very well known for burning a bright blue as the afterburner engages or in this case as the afterburner was going out following a reduction of power".
