🖤 WHY DARK WEDDING FAIR MATTERS 🖤
Every one of us behind the Dark Wedding Collective has experienced the same thing.
Watching incredible couples walk into the wedding industry excited...
..only to slowly begin editing themselves, sometimes with out even realising it.
(Us included, or even just feeling put off by the whole thing)
Constantly changing ideas and questioning their instincts. Wondering if they’re making the right decision or whether they should tone it down.
Whether people would “get it.”
Somewhere along the way, wedding planning became less about celebrating who you are and more about fitting into someone else’s idea of what a wedding should look like.
And, that’s why this fair matters. Because like what!
We believe your wedding shouldn’t be the one day you feel you have to perform.
It should be the one day you feel the most like yourself. A day where if you wanted to wear a black dress or shorts it doesn’t need explaining. Where handfastings sit alongside traditional ceremonies.
Where tattooed, q***r, gothic, alternative, neurodivergent, metalhead, fantasy-loving, wonderfully unconventional couples don’t feel like the exception.
They just feel... “normal”
As founders, that’s the industry we’ve always wanted to see and the space we are trying to create.
Not one built around trends or fuelled by “must-haves.”
But one built around people. Especially because, if you’re going to invest your time, your energy, and your heart into one of the biggest days of your life, why would you create a wedding that looks like anyone else’s but your own?
When you could create one that feels completely, unapologetically yours.
That’s why Dark Wedding Fair exists.
Not to tell you how to get married. Just to remind you that you never needed permission to do it your way 🖤
