Bempton Cliffs | Day One
18th June 📆
This is just a small collection of photos from day one of my trip to Bempton that paint a sort of picture of what I saw.
It’s a stunning place. Photos simply don’t do it justice (and thankfully you can’t smell photos either 😆🐟). My first afternoon there was mainly just to familiarise myself with the cliffs, so when I came back at the crack of dawn the next day, I’ll be able to get straight into the photography.
But although I wasn’t planning on taking many, it was near impossible to not find more and more things that I want to point my camera at 😄
Being so close to razorbills was such a dream, they’re easily one of the coolest looking birds we have here in the UK and I’ve wanted to get some good shots of them for a long time now. The excitement of watching them chill on the cliff edges did not become lost on me, as they quickly became a regular sighting.
The sound of the gannets chattering brought back great memories of my trip to Bass Rock, and although they weren’t as close, I loved capturing them on ledges below the viewing platform.
Honourable mention to the rock doves, which ALWAYS get me super excited to see! It’s just so nice to see them where they belong 😄
I took a lot of photos, but nowhere near as many as day two 😅
