Let's talk about photography style...
There has been a lot of discussion recently about how to explain photography styles and what couples should expect from a particular style or approach to photography.
As photographers we are usually there to deliver direction and support to enable the best results when and where needed. Every photographer has their own style but I guess it's about the process they take to deliver the end result!
Some key words you may hear are:
Documentary - this is like a fly on the wall approach so totally stood back and observing.
Editorial- could be direction from the photographer to help achieve a particular look.
My couples are prompted in a simple way but the goal is for the outcome to look as natural as possible. Eg walk towards me and chat to each other or run towards me -amongst many more.
I think it's so important to trust your photographer's vision and for there to be full transparency from their side.
So much I could say on this subject but this shot I'm posting was completely candid- it's also important to choose a photographer that notices moments/ details like this- if that's what you love.
It's so crucial for me to get to know couples that choose me, I want people to trust me and to feel relaxed and comfortable the outcome is always 10x better this way.
I think it's easy to blur the lines on what styles mean and how these are achieved but I'd love to know your take on this...?
