International Transgender Day Of Visibility 🏳️‍⚧️

I had the opportunity to talk about the political shift regarding trans rights and the LGBT+ community as a whole regarding my work as humorous protest in the .co.uk documentary “Art Is For Everyone”.

I’ve said before with my work that it’s important that our community stays present and active when it comes to change.

Although my artwork is predominantly focussed on pop culture and celebrity, the drag community and trans identities have always been at the forefront of what I create.

Be vocal, stand up to what is right, and protect those around you.

Last year I had the pleasure of being one of 10 Yorkshire-based artists interviewed by the incredible team at .co.uk to talk about my artwork, the process, and what creativity means to me.

Last year was a rough one for me and I found myself sinking into a creative slump and being a part of such a cool project really helped me get my creative juices flowing again so for that I am eternally grateful! 💖

“Art Is For Everyone” premiers tomorrow with a live Q&A with the creators and the artists involved.

There are a few tickets left so head over to the .co.uk Instagram account and click the link in their bio to get yours.

All proceeds from the tickets go towards so he can continue his incredible work in the community!

Come join us tomorrow evening at the Howard Assembly Room in Leeds, go on, you know you want to.

You may remember my piece I created for the general election called “Devil With A Blue Dress On” of Margaret Thatcher, well I also made a very quick of Diet Tory Kier Starmer that I thought I would save for an inevitable f**kery to come. This week it happened.

Trans people make up a small minority of the British population and yet they have been used as political cannon fodder for quite some time now.

The attack on trans people continues and with people masking their bigotry for “protecting women” without any thought behind it. The reality is that men don’t need to pretend to be women to attack women.

Trans people exist and will continue to exist, so I hope and pray that the terfs who fought so viciously for “real women” to be in women’s bathrooms welcome trans men in with open arms and without any hesitation because this is what they’ve fought for.

To my trans friends, continue to exist proudly and know that you have support. And to the homosexual people who think this doesn’t affect them, brace yourselves because we’re next. If our face doesn’t fit their ideologies we’re out.

3 years ago I was commissioned by to create a Sassicism piece utilising a painting in their collection for LGBTQ+ History Month.

I was given a selection of paintings to choose from and I was immediately drawn to this portrait of Chevalier d’Éon (by Thomas Stewart) who was a French diplomat and spy who lived his life as a man as well as utilising his androgyny and dressing as a woman.

The inspiration behind my recreation was who also had his gender speculated and questioned in the press throughout his career.

I chose to take various elements of George’s style, makeup, and wardrobe throughout the decades and mix it into something new.

This was honestly one of the coolest projects I’ve ever worked on and I’m so grateful to the National Portrait Gallery for allowing me dig into their archive and create a piece of art that celebrates LGBT+ people.

Prints are now available! So please drop me a DM to order yours.
