On Saturday I had the absolute honour of photographing Charlie and Alex's beautiful woodland wedding at the incredible . The weather definitely threw a few curve balls but it was absolutely stunning and I can't wait to share the full set of sneak peeks later this week.

Give me a packed wedding dancefloor and I am one happy photographer. 😂🕺💃

Honestly, this is the stuff I live for.

The mates absolutely throwing themselves around.
The people who’ve suddenly discovered they can dance.
The questionable moves.
The massive group hugs.
The moments where nobody notices that I’m holding a camera. 👀📸

This is why I love candid wedding photography.

I’m not just capturing in the perfectly posed wedding photos. I want the chaos too! The stuff that’s happening when you’re too busy having the time of your life to notice me.

Because years from now, I want you to look back at your wedding photography and remember exactly how much fun you had! 🖤

I’m here for the couples who don’t want to spend their wedding day standing awkwardly in a field for 3 hours while I tell them where to put their hands. 😂

I want the belly laughs, the happy tears, the dogs, the dancefloor carnage, the weird little details, the ridiculous ideas and all the moments that make your wedding your wedding!!

Basically, if “traditional wedding photography” make you want to run for the hills…

we’re probably going to get along just fine. 🖤

These couple shots deserved their own little moment on the grid. ✨

Sarah & Adam had a Final Fantasy themed wedding at Prestwold Hall, so obviously we had to make the most of all the epicness the venue had to offer! ⚔️

One of my favourite things to do with couple shots is to have a little wander around and see what we can find.

Rather than sticking you in one spot for half an hour, we’ll have a nosey around, find some different backdrops and make the most of the venue.

A bit of greenery, a bit of grand hall, some darker evening shots… and then obviously the swords came out. 😂⚔️

It means you end up with a really varied set of couple photos without spending AGES away from your guests.

And let’s be honest, if I’ve got a gorgeous venue AND a couple willing to wave swords around for me, I’m going to make the most of it. 😂🖤

Things I’ve seen at weddings as an alternative wedding photographer that just WORKED 👀

🎢 An entire play barn hired out for the guests
🎸 Wedding rings made from guitar strings
❄️ A couple who made snow angels on their wedding day
🖤 Matching tattoos for the couple + flash tattoos for guests
🤠 A sheep rodeo bull
🦖 A dinosaur ring bearer

And honestly, this is exactly why I bloody love alternative weddings.

There really is no rulebook. You can do whatever the hell makes sense for you two! Whether that’s matching tattoos, a dinosaur, snow angels or a sheep rodeo. 😂

The best weddings I’ve photographed are always the ones where couples stop worrying about what they’re supposed to do and just make the day completely their own.
