has played a big part in my career for a long time, with a great community, fascinating insights and photography at the centre, I really can’t recommend this to photographers enough.

It’s such a wonderful melting pot of encouragement and shared knowledge, and I’ve made some really great connections through the platform. The photography career can feel isolating at times, so being part of something so warm and welcoming is of beautiful comfort.

This video touches on the ups and downs of my own career and how a road trip around Europe relit the fire I have for making photographs. On the Darklight platform I wrote an article about this process and covered it in detail in a Huddle I hosted, kicking off a great time of vulnerability and sharing during the call. All of which was recorded and ready to be viewed on Darklight Pro.

The brief was simple, to capture Luther and Dan as they work on the branding and visual identity for a client and create some lifestyle portraits for their website, with a clear focus on detail, movement and composition. They love a slow, methodical and considered approach, met with striking, timeless design and it was a joy to embody that ethos for the day, working intentionally and creating these frames.

Being asked to shoot the whole project in black and white was the icing on the cake. Creatively, as a photographer, you get to look at composition and tones in a completely different way to colour and I love it. I even set the LCD screen on my camera to only show black and white, such a fun process.
