I believe that taking photographs not just of the big moments but of the smaller less significant ones too can fill all those gaps in my children memories so they can be filled and refreshed whenever they need. I am passionate about taking photographs that truly demonstrate not only the joys but the struggles of motherhood and family life. I believe that in doing this I am giving my children the g

reatest treasure I can and that it will hold far more value than any monetary inheritance I can leave them when I am no longer around. I believe that existing in photographs is one of the very best ways you can remind your children of how loved they are. I believe that photographs can give you the richest of memories and take your mind to deeper places than a therapy session could ever reach. I believe that a photo album will be the one book your children would choose to look at over and over again above any other. I believe that having family portraits on your wall can enforce a feeling of worthiness, value and confidence in your children. I know that waiting to lose weight before having your photo taken because you don't like how you look right now is a mistake that could cost your children the decent and tangible evidence that you were present in their childhood, especially as your children love you regardless and unconditionally. I believe that everyone is photogenic especially when they display genuine moments of affection and connection with their loved ones. All these things are incredibly important to me. What a way to start 2026 with a lovely new design project!

This time 7yrs ago I was oblivious of my impending cancer diagnosis. Blissfully unaware that within a few weeks of this photo I’d be starting a long and gruelling treatment regime.
If I had been offered a mammogram at 40 I may well have been able to catch it early.
My diagnosis at 42 meant I was below the age of routine breast screening and under the radar. Breast cancer doesn’t discriminate by age…it’s not exclusive to women in midlife and the average age is decreasing, especially among those with a strong family history.
Initiatives like the petition to lower the age of mammogram screening to 40 created by Gemma, a chemo nurse who works first hand with breast cancer patients,
has the potential to save lives and avoid extensive life altering treatment.

I’d love to say that and I deliberately organised our exhibitions around world menopause day and during the month of menopause awareness but in typical menopausal brain fashion neither us had even thought about it!! 🤪
Possibly serendipitous but I like to think it was all in the plan to encourage these important topics into discourse!
We will be hosting a panel discussion today at at 2pm to have a candid chat about our own experiences as well as some guest panelist’s

Pretty excited to see my image of Brenda Edward’s in OK magazine!
This campaign for secondary breast cancer awareness is super important to me… there is very little awareness currently and early diagnosis is critical. There are some amazing treatments available now and there is hope so long as the message gets out there!!

There is an exhibition at Genesis Care Centre in Guildford in October featuring the images I made.
