I took this in the Masai Mara, Kenya 🦓🕊️
Drawn first to the hypnotic patterns of the zebra’s stripes, I waited… and then a red-billed oxpecker lifted into flight at just the right moment.

These birds share a symbiotic relationship with large mammals like zebras, giraffes, and cattle—feeding on parasites such as ticks while offering a natural form of care.

That split second when the oxpecker’s head aligned perfectly against the zebra’s dark stripe? Pure luck. Pure Mara magic.✨

Another beautiful image that I took whilst on safari in Ranthambore Tiger Reserve, India, the park is famous for its magnificent Royal Bengal Tigers.

It is home to some of India’s most famous tigers, identifiable by their unique markings and territorial behaviour. It is the only national park in India where multiple tiger families, including mothers and cubs, can be observed together.

Here was the exact moment when this powerful beast scampered up an embankment and for a brief instant locked eyes with a rather shaky photographer. Having that connection even though it was just for a few seconds, will always be a lasting memory of my trip to Ranthambore.

Sharing my passion and love for animals through photography…❤📸

People often ask me how I became a wildlife and pet photographer, they are usually very surprised when they find out I’ve been a Doctor for a huge part of my working life, but animals and photography are my passion.

I was born in Sarawak, in East Malaysia. Sarawak was part of Borneo. It has an equatorial climate with magnificent tropical rainforests and abundant animals and plant species.

I had a very interesting childhood and went to Catholic/Anglican mission schools. I grew up with many Malay and Chinese friends and was exposed to wildlife from a very early age, this is where my passion for animals began.

My father was a civil engineer, he worked in the rural areas building irrigation canals and other structures. During our school holidays , we used to visit him and I’d see many amazing creatures including crocodiles, orangutans, and exotic birds such as the Great hornbills.

After my O-levels I went to India and obtained my degree in medicine. The culture was very rich and I enjoyed my stay there. Then in 1982 I came to England to further my education and became a GP, eventually settling in Hull where I have worked as a doctor for over 30 years.

Can I be in the photographs with my dog?

Simple answer, of course you can.

It’s your photo-experience session, so we can tailor it to exactly how you want it.

We choose a location for the shoot that is special and significant to you, your favourite park, a woodland walk, the beach or down by the river.

Then we create a story of images that truly captures your pet’s personality, and if you’d like to be in a selection of those photographs you can, whether that be posed portraits of the two of you together, or action shots of you both having fun and interacting.

I want to build a story of you and your best friend. Capturing the bond between

Your dog doesn’t have to be a poser or a K9 supermodel. They don’t need to sit perfectly or stand alert and at attention like a police dog.

Wall art that captures your dog’s unique personality is so much more authentic and shows off their true character.

So, if your dog is a bundle of energy, if they can’t sit still for more than 30 seconds, then that’s exactly what we’ll capture. Your photoshoot is your dog just being themselves, having fun, living life and enjoying every minute, because that’s just the way they are.

Then, when you sit back and look at your wall art, you can smile and say, that’s my boy. Sometimes he’s a handful, sometimes he’s wild, but I love him to bits and wouldn’t change him for the world.

A "Heartfelt Greeting" between two siblings.

This beautiful and intimate image was taken in Ranthambore Tiger Reserve earlier this year. The reserve is one of the biggest and most renowned national parks in Northern India, located in the 🪿Sawai Madhopur district of southeastern Rajasthan.

India is home to around 70 percent of the world’s tiger population, boasting over 3,000 tigers.

These tigers you see are siblings, and here they are greeting each other with fondness and love, showing the often unseen, delicate nature of these apex predators.

Capturing this interaction between these two magnificent tigers was very moving, because if you look hard enough, an actual heart shape can be seen in the space below where their two heads meet. Hence my title for the photograph is 'heartfelt greeting'.

Set and framed within the forest trees, this gives an atmospheric and almost magical feel to the moment. It was one of the most memorable photographs of my wildlife journey in Northern India.
