Fast-paced action from Birmingham Rockets’ thrilling 3-2 victory over Nottingham Outlaws at Planet Ice Solihull 🏒🥅

From big saves and goal celebrations to hard-fought puck battles and end-to-end action, this game had everything that makes British ice hockey such an exciting sport to photograph. Capturing the speed, intensity, teamwork and emotion of the game is what sports photography is all about.

A selection of my favourite images from an entertaining night of ice hockey in the West Midlands featuring Birmingham Rockets and Nottingham Outlaws.

Pitchside at Claines Lane, Worcester, for the Worcestershire FA County Cup Final.

Meadow Park Youth took on Oldbury Park Tigers in one of the standout youth football fixtures of the season at the home of the Worcestershire FA.

A proper final.
A proper venue.

Here are some of the moments from the day.

The energy in that theatre was something else.

Last month, I had the privilege of photographing the students of Ignite, Kidderminster College’s school of dance, musical theatre, acting and tech performing in the main theatre on campus.

Fast-paced. Powerful. Completely captivating.

These students gave everything, and it was an honour to be there with a camera capturing it all.

🏆 County Cup Final night at Claines Lane.

Worcester City U14S vs Kidderminster Harriers. Worcestershire FA County Cup Final.

One of the best stages for grassroots football.

Worcester City took it 3-2 in a game that had everything.

End-to-end. Nerves. Drama.

And a trophy lift at the end.

I was pitchside capturing every moment — from the first tackle to the final whistle.

Swipe through to relive the action. ➡️

Happy third anniversary, Christina and Tom, a little belated but no less heartfelt.

Three years since Redhouse Barn, and what a day that was to be part of. Wishing you both a wonderful celebration. 🥂

Varsity Netball 1’s | BCU vs Aston University

What a performance from BCU 1’s on Wednesday at Sir Doug Ellis Woodcock Street Leisure Centre, taking the Varsity fixture against Aston University 46 - 36!

Congratulations to everyone involved - this was a brilliant team display from first whistle to last. 🎉

And what a team it was. Every single player contributed, every position worked hard, and it showed in that scoreline. Days like this are built on collective effort, and yesterday BCU had that in abundance. 👏

But I’d be doing a disservice if I didn’t give a special mention to Niamh Harrington at Goal Attack. Her consistency of shooting throughout the game was outstanding, and her movement off the ball was a joy to watch. She made it look effortless — and anyone who plays netball knows it really isn’t. 🌟

Huge credit too to Aston University 1’s - you made BCU work for every point and should be proud of the fight you showed.

Brilliant to be courtside, capturing it all. 📸

The Varsity Basketball 1’s fixture between BCU and Aston University was abandoned following a medical emergency during the third quarter.

Our thoughts are entirely with the player involved, their family, teammates and friends. We’re wishing you a full and speedy recovery. 💙

But in what was an incredibly difficult and distressing situation, it would be wrong not to recognise the quite remarkable response of the BCU coaching staff, the wider BCU team, and the staff at Sir Doug Ellis Woodcock Street Leisure Centre.

Their swift, calm and professional actions in those moments were extraordinary, and a huge credit to every single one of them. Because of people like that, lives are saved when they are in the right place at the right time and know exactly what to do. 🙏

I debated long and hard whether to post these photographs at all. Ultimately, they are a record of a day where sport came second to something far more important — the people in it.
