Pre-wedding shoots are a great way of getting to know you and showing that being in font of a camera isn't as scary as you may think.....ok well maybe it can be a bit....but we can get over that, honest!
Rather than an outdoorsy-style pre-wedding shoot of the two of them, Grace and Charlie opted for a simple family shoot and, as it happens, instead of a 'getting to know you' session (albeit it was my first meeting with Charlie and Cora) it was lovely to meet up with Grace again and also her mom (Ann) - who spent the shoot jumping around, dancing and puling faces to engage Cora - helping Cora to relax and change from shy wall-flower to photo-diva!
I had the absolute pleasure of photographing Ann's wedding over 10 years ago when Grace was a a slip of a girl and we have kept in touch, so it is huge honour for me be trusted with the wedding photography for Grace and Charlie this month and I am so excited to be part of their day.

She may not understand the weight of the promises about to be made, but she does understand that today matters deeply to her parents and family. She watches the buzz of activity around her and is still; her new dress, shoes and bouquet all making her feel special, ready for her grand entrance and to join Mom and Dad's declaration of happily ever after. This lovely little lady came for a 'plain and simple' studio-style shoot last year and absolutely stole the show. Some weddings are low key whispers and some are full-on sing-alongs, and this was certainly the latter. Following the main course, singing waiters Undercover Artists (from bestdayever-venues) gave guests a superb fun-filled half hour of song and dance where everyone really let their hair down. as you can see from this image.

Whilst we also take lots of post wedding-breakfast casual pictures, if we have the opportunity to use this time for couple shots we will. These shots don't have to mean you are dragged away from people, and this is a classic example where guests were just outside the frame of the shot in the shelter and at the side of me - while we can make it look like a quiet, romantic moment, we don't take responsibility for any heckling you may receive from your nearest and dearest!

We love it when couples are happy to explore beautiful locations around their venue for couple shots and, in another quick potter round post wedding breakfast, we did just that. A few minutes downtime to run through their first dance on a quiet pathway with stunning evening light gave us the perfect opportunity to capture some special moments.

With endless dark days of wet weather it is time to add some colour to our feeds and look back on some of the beautiful days we had for weddings last year. After the meal and formals were over we ventured into the local fields around Curradine Barns to enjoy the early evening light just before guests arrived.
