A few of my favourite Dartford Warnle shots from the last week!
This small, dark, long-tailed warbler is a UK resident and has struggled with harsh winters. The Dartford Warbler’s population crashed to a few pairs in the 1960s, but has gradually recovered since then, increasing in both numbers and range. It is still regarded as an Amber List species. It will perch on top of a gorse stem to sing, but is often seen as a small flying shape bobbing between bushes.

Nuthatch nest building!
Location: Primarily uses old woodpecker holes or natural cavities in broadleaved trees, but will readily use appropriately sized nest boxes.
Mudding Behavior: If the entrance hole is too large, both birds (especially the female) will reduce its diameter by applying mud or clay, creating a smaller, safer entrance.
Nest Materials: The interior is lined with materials like pine bark flakes, dead leaves, grass, moss, and sometimes animal fur.

To anyone that thinks that British birds are all brown and boring take a look at one of our more colourful and interesting birds, The Crossbill!!!
This is the male Crossbill which is red whilst the female more green.
And that bill, crossed over to make getting into pine cones much easier, here it is at work!!
