A trip to Cheshire at the weekend for Wedding 2.0, the second instalment of my elder son Tom’s marriage to Harriet. After the July register office ceremony in Stockport, we headed to the hills near Poynton for a day of celebrations, with contributions from many of his friends, including those who went to Oakbank School with Tom, fellow staff from the couple's Failsworth School, plus some familiar faces from his former band Gold Jacks and current musical colleagues in Groovy Revolution, with Tom strapping on his Fender bass for a couple of tunes with them. Lovely to see Keighley and Cardiff uniting, with Harriet’s family making the journey north to Cheshire to the wedding barn.

Over to Wensleydale on Saturday to shoot a video of who were playing a gig at . Great event, great beer and some good footage of the band.

Just back from a trip to the far North-West of Scotland to climb one of the country’s shapeliest mountains, Suilven.
It’s not even close to the nation’s highest peaks, at 731m (2,398ft), but its Torridonian sandstone flanks rise steeply above the lochs and moors of Assynt, near Lochinver. My knees and thighs can attest to the steepness of its slopes. But the views, out as far as the Isle of Harris, were worth the effort.

Just back from a business trip to Liverpool, birthplace of one of my grandfathers and one of my favourite English cities. Managed to fly the drone briefly before strong winds and shirty gulls necessitated a return to land. The Waterfront and Albert Dock have a magical look at night.
