Where’s the sunshine gone 😭

In May we had (sun) a bonus book of the month, Remarkably Bright Creatures by Shelby Van Pelt, I personally loved it! Have yet to watch the movie though and have heard mixed opinions…

Our review of what the club read in April!

The overall vibe was drama with a twist, with the maid providing a view of a crime through the eyes of someone potentially neurodiverse, or King of Ashes about the complexity of family and the lengths some will go to protect our loved ones.

🌼 MARCH 🌼

For March we read All the Light We Cannot See, a historical fiction where you follow Marie-Laure and Werner throughout Germany and France during WW2.
I thought the writing was captivating, my fave chapter is quite early on in the book, with Marie’s father teaching her to know her block by heart, where she is blind, so she can always find her way home 💫 I just thought it was so sweet.
Swipe 👉🏼 for Katy & Claire’s thoughts

Our second book was sold as a Dark Comedy: I See You’ve Called in Dead by John Kenney, swipe 👉🏼 for Gillian & Katy’s thoughts 💭

Have you read either of these picks? What did you think?

This could be huge for the club!
We have so many fans of the Inheritance Cycle (including me), so really hoping they don’t butcher it again - it’s one of my childhood favourites 🐉

Eragon fans are preparing for a revival that could reshape fantasy television. Disney’s upcoming remake is already being described as a massive undertaking with world building, casting ambitions, and production scale that aim to surpass anything attempted for the original 2006 adaptation. Early insiders say the studio is approaching the series with the same commitment given to its major fantasy franchises, which has sparked huge excitement among longtime readers.

The Inheritance Cycle has always had the potential for sprawling mythos, ancient lore, deep emotional arcs, and dragon magic that demands time to unfold. A series format finally gives the story room to breathe, allowing characters like Eragon, Brom, Arya, and Saphira to grow across multiple seasons instead of being rushed into a single film narrative.

Disney is reportedly investing heavily in creature effects, elaborate sets, and a tone closer to the books, something fans have begged for over a decade. The remake aims to capture the heart of Christopher Paolini’s world with respect for its origins and a fresh cinematic polish for modern audiences.

With the right cast and strong storytelling, this series has the potential to reignite an entire generation’s love for Alagaesia and introduce it to millions discovering the saga for the first time.
