East Coast Photography is ten years old this month!
I've been wanting to write a post about this and say just how grateful I am that it's still going, and still providing me with so much happiness. I'd like to thank all of the people who have helped me keep going - family, friends and customers.
There's no doubt there have been some dark days, losing my co-founder Rob Davis in an accident just three years into starting our business was unbearably tough. I will never forget the kindness offered by so many people at this time. Without him, I'm not sure that East Coast would exist, so I hope to keep it running for as long as I possibly can as I think he would want.
Making the decision to step back from my studio in order to focus on my young family has also been a challenge at times! It's not easy for anyone to balance work and family life, and I'm so thankful for all the help with childcare, advice and help from family and others.
I would particularly like to mention my partner Mark - who has been amazing over the last few years. He is often to be found assisting me at weddings and photoshoots, and has proven himself to be a brilliant photographer! He is a calm and positive influence when I'm doubting myself, and gives me practical help whenever I need it too (and he's also an excellent tea maker while proves very useful when we are doing our annual charity Christmas Photo Day for EACH!) I could not have continued East Coast without him - I cannot thank you enough Mark :)
Moving forward into next year, my youngest child will be starting full time school soon, and while I will miss her - I'm also very ready to roll up my sleeves and really get back to shooting much more often!
Thank you for reading.
Ellie.
