Now that we are in the Dark half of the year, I am gathering a collection of wintery gifts for next weekends RARE Makers Market in Inverurie on Saturday 10th at the Garioch Heritage Centre. 10-4pm. Lots of unique handmade gifts to be found for making a start on your christmas gift list! See you there.

Wow! What. A. Week! The most successful North East Open Studios I've had to date, thanks to all our wonderful visitors - from camera clubs, birdspotters, zoologists and nature lovers to name a few who arrived in their droves... and to Kemnay House for hosting and welcoming in everyone. Thankyou also to my accompanying group of creatives, who were such great fun and gave such a positive vibe - and ...And not forgetting our regular, returning visitors who are always so positive and encouraging.

Perhaps a year off next year, it will be a good opportunity for me to visit the wider artist's arena myself!

A somewhat desaturated collection of our northeastern Scottish natural world. Not quite the monochrome of winter, but the period where the rich autumn vibrancy descends to the muted colours, ahead of our midwinter's often white on white palette. By the end of December I often feel like curling up like the owl here and hibernating til March.

*BUT I HAVE NEOS26* and a few other events to attend first!

I'm super excited to be exhibiting as part of a group of 4 creatives in the beautiful surroundings of The Gallery at Kemnay House , alongside Alex Burnett Art , Kathryn McFarlane Artist and peardropjewellery from Saturday 12th - Sunday 20th September, closed Wednesday 16th.

Autumn is appearing on the landscapes of northeast Scotland. There will be a range of seasonal photographs on display throughout North East Open Studios from September 12-20 The Gallery at Kemnay House. We have a wonderful range of artists there who are happy to chat about their work and processes. We look forward to welcoming you all 💛 NOTE: closed on Weds 16th.

Scottish Summer Colour

How lucky are we to have lush greens and colourful blooms throughout spring and summer? Dark rainclouds often provide a dramatic backdrop that helps pop any subject. I'm usually thankful for rain over summertime, especially after seeing how parched the landscapes are on the south coast of the UK.

Now, as we approach Autumn, our landscapes will transform into a treasure chest of golds, browns, oranges and rust. Appreciate each season's visit, before we know it, they seem disappear in the blink of an eye.

There will be a wide range of local prints and frames on show throughout North East Open Studios 12-20 September. I'm exhibiting alongside 3 wonderful creatives at The Gallery at Kemnay House - check the small yellow book for opening hours. We are closed on Wednesday.

Seasons in the Shire 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 🌱🌼🍂❄️

A snippet of the Turning of the Wheel as we head into my favourite season, Autumn. And what better muse to highlight The Turning, than a tree.

These fine art prints will be on display at The Gallery at Kemnay House throughout North East Open Studios in September.

We are so fortunate to witness all four seasons here in Scotland. Sometimes even in one day!

The countdown is on! Only four weeks until the doors of The Gallery at Kemnay House in its beautiful surroundings are open, ready to welcome visitors from near and far.
