A pretty good place to spend a day filming.

I recently spent a day on Loch Ness filming the Ness Marine 5m, 6m and 7m HDPE workboats for Caley Marina.

The brief was to showcase the boats out on the water, so we spent the day putting them through their paces, capturing high-speed runs, beach landings, aerials and plenty of footage of the boats in the incredible surroundings of Loch Ness.

Shooting boats is a bit different from most of the work I do, but it's great fun trying to anticipate where the action is going to happen and get the right shot from the water, the shore and the air.

Filmed and produced by Cinematiq for Caley Marina.

A pretty good day at the office.

I recently spent some time out on Loch Ness filming these boats for Caley Marina, showcasing the Ness Marine range in their natural environment.

The boats are built here in the Highlands, and this was a great opportunity to get them out on the water and capture what they're actually like to use.

Shooting boats from the air, chasing them around Loch Ness and trying to make the most of the landscape and changing light was seriously good fun.

Here's a little look at the finished film.

Filmed and produced by Cinematiq for Caley Marina.

Mongolia. -45°C. A frozen lake. And a handcycle designed for adventure.

I filmed this story in Mongolia with Karen Darke, following her journey across the frozen Lake Khövsgöl on an ICE Adventure handcycle.

What started as a product film became something much more interesting: a story about adventure, adaptation and finding new ways to explore the world. This is just a very small clip from a huge project.

This is the kind of filmmaking I want to do more of.

Real people. Real stories. Extraordinary places.

King Chales III was at Stanergill Distillery last week, to open this beautiful restored mill. It has been amazing watching this building be brought back to it's former glory, after lying in ruin for so long. I did a few photoshoots in here back when it was derelict, and it's amazing being there now and seeing the amazing work done by Martin & Claire and their team.
A fitting moment having it opened by the King.

Due to weather shifts, the Lake is constantly cracking and fracturing, which creates all sorts of obstacles to be overcome to get from A to B. This was an interesting time spent firstly trying to find a way through, and then lots of ice-breaking to create a passage. All performed at -30C with wind chill on top. Great efforts by the team.
