I spent a full day at Drovers' Lodge in spring, then returned last week to capture some more summery exterior shots showing off the beautiful setting above Loch Ness. 😎

Dana and Josh from Connecticut booked me for a pre-wedding photoshoot at Inverness Botanic Gardens and Café ahead of getting married in a bookstore in the States!

A pre-wedding or engagement photoshoot is a great way to get used to being around the camera ahead of your big day, especially if the thought of 'posing' makes you cringe!

I have a lot of tips up my sleeve for gently guiding you into natural poses, capturing authentic images, and making sure that you enjoy your photography session. 📸

Kerstin and Stefan (with their adorable wee daughter) drove their campervan all the way from Austria to tie the knot at the Quiraing on Skye!

Here are a few images from Kerstin and Stefan's elopement, with their lovely ceremony conducted by Meg, the registrar. It was an absolute joy to capture these and to be one of the witnesses!

Stewart and Xia at Hello Highlands recently commissioned me to photograph their three lovely holiday lets in Drumnadrochit: a garden pod; a garden flat, and a traditional Highland cottage.

Here are a few highlights from one of my favourite family photoshoots this spring; cute baby Walter and his proud parents, Freya and James! The location is the beautiful Oldtown of Leys Garden, an oasis of calm in Inverness.

One of Freya's relatives contacted me to purchase a gift voucher for Freya's birthday. Freya and James then got in touch and chose the location; a place that's special to them (and, happily, ideal for an outdoor family photoshoot!). It was great to meet this lovely family and an absolute delight to capture these memories for them.

My gift vouchers are valid for two years from the date of purchase, I can recommend many superb locations throughout the Highlands, and I always aim to be flexible and work around the weather forecast. Worth bearing in mind for birthdays and anniversaries! 😊

I've had a very long break from social media, mainly to replace 'doom scrolling' with nicer activities like reading a good book! However, there has to be a balance and I'm going to make an effort to post regularly again.

Things have been busy behind the scenes! Here are a few images from a recent solo photoshoot with Valerie from Texas, at Ness Islands. Valerie booked a solo photoshoot so that she would have professional photographs to share with her family back home, and she wanted to feature her selection of tartan scarves and a lovely Fair Isle jumper.

Here's what Valerie had to say afterwards: "Karen was absolutely fantastic during my photoshoot. She made the whole experience relaxed, fun, and genuinely enjoyable. Her eye for natural light and scenery is amazing, and the photos were stunning - full of warmth and personality. Highly recommend her to anyone looking for a talented and kind photographer."
