Do you have home VHS videos you can't play any more? Maybe a wedding video, graduation or other special occasion? Do you have LP's or vinyl albums you haven't been able to listen to in years? Have you ever wanted to share some older photographs or slides with your friends on Facebook? Now you can! Simply bring or send your older media to Culloden, Inverness (exact location provided upon contact) a
nd I'll put your videos onto a DVD, your music onto an audio CD and your photographs onto a data CD. Standard price - £10 per VHS tape
Extra options:
- Chapters - the default option is to format the DVD video as one long chapter, however, if you'd prefer to be able to skip through your video broken down into chapters, this can be arranged.
- Menu - If you do opt for chapters, you now have the choice between having a menu at the start that offers "play all" or "select scene," or instead you can simply have the DVD video play the main video as soon as it is inserted and played.
- Format - the default option is to convert videos to DVD video format, but if you want a slightly improved video quality, the video can also be encoded into mp4 file format, you can view mp4 video files on most modern tablets and mobile phones, the only downside to this option is that some older DVD players are unable to play the mp4 video files, but don't worry - with this option you get the standard DVD video AND a disc with the mp4 on it. Each option costs £2.50 extra per video, or get all 3 options for the price of 2, so £15 gets you one DVD with menu and chapters, PLUS an additional disc with an mp4 version of your video tape. Standard price - £10 per Vinyl record and/or audio cassette tape
Extra options:
- Audio cleaning - the default option is to simply burn the raw recorded audio onto an audio CD, but if you'd prefer, I can process the audio so that any rumble, hiss, and other general noises common to vinyl, are minimised.
- Audio processing - I can apply some gentle limiting and compression so that your converted audio CD plays at a volume slightly more like a typical purchased audio CD. (Note that both of these processes will affect the dynamic range of the audio, but will almost certainly sound more pleasant to the ear than the untouched audio)
- Tempo locking - if you want to convert electronic genres of music from vinyl (or even tape) for the purpose of DJing, there will almost certainly be a measure of tempo drift throughout the track, which may cause problems whenever your software or hardware attempts to analyse the BPM. To negate this, the track can be audio warped back to a solid tempo so it's perfect for Djing with. Each option costs £2.50 extra per record/tape, or get all 3 options for the price of 2, so £15 gets you a conversion that is practically rumble, crackle, click, hum and noise free, plays at a perceived volume that is more like a standard audio track on modern CD's, and plays at a precise constant tempo, assuming the source media was intended to. Photographs and slides
