โš“ A warm welcome back to Invergordon, AIDAsol! ๐Ÿด๓ ง๓ ข๓ ณ๓ ฃ๓ ด๓ ฟ

If you glanced across the Cromarty Firth this morning and thought a ship was smiling at you โ€” you weren't seeing things! ๐Ÿ˜„

Every ship in the AIDA fleet wears a giant red "Kussmund" (kissing mouth), a pair of eyes and flowing blue waves painted right along the hull. They're the work of Rostock artist Feliks Bรผttner, and the idea behind them is lovely โ€” to make cruising feel cheerful, modern and welcoming rather than stiff and formal. The name AIDA even comes from the Egyptian princess in Verdi's famous opera. ๐ŸŽญ

She's a big, friendly family ship โ€” around 2,350 guests and 609 crew โ€” run "Clubship" style: relaxed and casual, buffets and pools, the sort of holiday where grandparents, parents and kids all cruise together. So expect plenty of cheerful families heading ashore to explore the Highlands today.

And today's a special one too. After her day with us she sails this evening bound for home: Hamburg. So Invergordon is her last Scottish wave goodbye before Germany ๐Ÿ‡ฉ๐Ÿ‡ช

We are pleased to have her here with us until 6pm โ€” so to all aboard both passengers & crew welcome to Invergordon and enjoy the Highlands!
(Bring a brolly and the sunglasses โ€” you know how we do it up here sunbathing one minute running for cover the next!) ๐ŸŒฆ๏ธโ˜€๏ธ

โš“ Today marks a special visit to Invergordon today. The Port of Cromarty Firth hosted the small but mighty, super luxury Silver Spirit. It also marked her Maiden voyage here too. So being her very first visit we would like to begin by saying we hope that all aboard create lasting memories here in the Scottish Highlands! ๐Ÿด๓ ง๓ ข๓ ณ๓ ฃ๓ ด๓ ฟ

It's an honour to host Silversea's Silver Spirit on her maiden call to our port today. She's ultra-luxury through and through โ€” an all-suite ship where every single guest has their own personal butler ๐Ÿพ

Here's a cracker of a fun fact too: back in 2018 she was literally cut clean in half, and a brand new 15 metre midsection was slotted in to make her longer. Not only is this a great feat of engineering but she was also one of the very first luxury cruise ships in the world to ever be "stretched" in this way. did the work in Palermo. Once the huge works were complete she came back bigger, with more suites and more luxurious space. She now weighs around 39,500 tonnes and is a total of 211 metres long. ๐Ÿ›ณ๏ธ

With 630 guests aboard today and 412 crew looking after them, she's the very definition of small-ship luxury. So finally as we close this out and the time draws nearer to her leaving for her next leg of the cruise we would like to wish everyone aboard a warm welcome to Invergordon, your gateway to the Highlands! Sorry the weather has been somewhat patchy for your visit but thats the Highlands, Sunglasses one minute, raincoat and running from Hailstones the next minute lol โ˜€๏ธ๐Ÿ˜‚โ›ˆ๏ธ

Have a great onward journey folks!

โš“ Welcome to Invergordon, Star Pride! ๐Ÿด๓ ง๓ ข๓ ณ๓ ฃ๓ ด๓ ฟ

There's a real piece of maritime history sitting right here in Invergordon this morning. The Star Pride sailed the very first ever Seabourn cruise to operate. Way back she entered service in November 1988 as Seabourn Pride, the ship that launched the entire world of modern ultra-luxury small-ship cruising. For her first few years she was the whole Seabourn fleet; the brand's reputation was built on her alone. Now, nearly four decades on she's still going strong. Not just rebuilt but "power-stretched" too. Yep you heard that right. Back in Italy during 2021 with a brand-new mid-section being added, fresh suites and a fresh new pool area too.

At just 159 metres and carrying around 295 guests, she's a fraction of the size of the megaships that are cruising around the world but she can hold her own โ€” and that's exactly why her passengers choose her.

Windstar travellers tend to be a curious, adventurous bunch who tend to research their ports long before they arrive. We should be able to keep this savvy bunch happy though. With the whisky, superb food and the great outdoors top of the list the Scottish Highlands never fail to disappoint. They've come to the right place, Invergordon is their gateway to the Highlands and will surely lead to them making lasting memories ๐Ÿฅƒ

The Star Pride is scheduled to be with us until 9pm this evening. She's back again on 23rd June with an unusually late one, on her next visit she is here till 11pm.

Welcome ashore, one and all, its great to have you here enjoy our town and wherever you venture to in the Highlands today! โ˜€๏ธ๐Ÿšข

๐Ÿšข The Norwegian Star returns to Invergordon this morning, Tuesday 2 June, arriving at 08:00 โ€” one of nine visits she's making to our port this year.

A bit of trivia to share if you're down at the waterfront watching her come in: tucked right at the very top of the ship are two of the most extraordinary cabins at sea โ€” the Garden Villa suites. Each one has:

* three bedrooms
* private garden
* whirlpools
* outdoor dining
* media room
* and of course.. full butler service

11,149 square feet all in โ€” bigger than most Highland cottages put together, and today they also come with panoramic views as they sit eleven decks up above the stunning Cromarty Firth! ๐ŸŒ„

Thats not all, for all her size she's quick: 25 knots makes her the joint-fastest ship in the whole Norwegian Cruise Line fleet.

If you're around the Port of Cromarty Firth today, she's a grand sight. So whether shes coming up the firth or in Port deffo worth a look. Be sure to get out with your camera ๐Ÿ“ธ ๐Ÿด๓ ง๓ ข๓ ณ๓ ฃ๓ ด๓ ฟ

What a sight to wake up to! ๐Ÿšข

The Majestic Princess is alongside in Invergordon again this morning โ€” one of the bigger cruise ships in the world at 144,216 gross tonnes and 330 metres long. Sheโ€™s carrying around 3,800 passengers today whoโ€™ll be exploring the Highlands before she slips away this evening bound for Leith.

This is her third call of the season and sheโ€™ll be back five more times before October โ€” making her the most frequent large ship visitor to Invergordon in 2026. Not bad for a ship that was also purpose-built with a glass-floored Seawalk that extends over the open ocean!

After her Invergordon season wraps, she heads south for an Antarctic deployment โ€” the largest Princess Cruises ship ever to sail the Peninsula.

Welcome back, Majestic Princess! ๐Ÿ‘
