Appearing in the latest issue of Wavelength Magazine, this photo of Jayce Robinson was a hard earned one. A large, long period swell and strong winds made this session a real challenge; I battled rips, rogue sets and stinging spray before finally lining one up with Jayce on a hollow one. Shout out to Jayce, Harry Timson and Luke Dillon for paddling out and picking off some good ones, it wasn’t easy out there. On days like this the playing field is huge with waves breaking in a different place every set. So coming back even with just a few good shots feels like a win. Roll on winter and more swells like this!

A selection of moments from a calm evening earlier in June. When the waves are small like that you can get really creative with angles and camera settings without the fear of getting pummelled!

Hard Drive Archives Vol. 3
December and January are my favourite time of year to photograph this wave. The low fternoon sun is positioned perfectly for shooting into the light. The shadow of the cliffs as a backdrop create a dramatic contrast which I often look for when composing an image. These photos were taken in 2021.

I have so many photos on my hard drives that have never seen the light of day. I’m going to go through them all and pick out the best ones from past sessions and post them on here as albums. This album is from an afternoon back in 2021. I love the dark backdrop at this spot.
