This image of Matt Turcan recently appeared in the latest issue of . I remember hooting as the wave approached—a cue Matt took to spin and go, only to find it was a complete closeout. Undeterred, he went anyway… Thanks, Matt. And thanks to Wavelength for featuring the shot. I’ve included a few more frames from the same session below. Conditions that day were as good as it gets: light offshore winds, full sun, and a long-period swell lighting up the low-tide banks.
