From the silent gliding of short-eared owls to a screaming melee of gannets and gulls! I have seen gannets dive from a distance, but never up close - they did not come to play! Huge thanks to Beverley Thain for organising, and skipper Harold from Guide Charters and Cruises for a fantastic day.

The Uists have so much to offer in terms of wildlife, and although owls are my absolute faves, it does the islands a disservice to sum them up in one species. Saying that, we will now return to our scheduled 🦉Owl Posting🦉

Fantastic to see the local Puffins having a successful season! Although most will have now set off back out to sea, I visited a few times in mid-July - I was also excited to see a puffling there for the first time 😍😍😍

Some faves from Wednesday's AGM of the Osprey Breakfast Club. The resident charming boy was very insistent he wasn't going to let anyone else fish 🙃🐠 Once he eventually managed to hang onto a fish, he was flying around with it for the next hour! Cheers as ever to Gordon and Ian for the guiding, and the OBC Committee for great company in the hide.

A stunning evening earlier this month on board the Amarisa, with probably the best light of my entire Uists trip. So many great sightings, but star of the show was this magnificent 19-year-old Sea Eagle boy. Thanks to Rosie and Nye for a fantastic sailing 🚤🦅
