Quick question for everyone planning a wedding… 💍

What’s the ONE thing you’ve found surprisingly difficult to organise?

The venue?
Photographer? 📸
Guest list?
Finding suppliers?
Keeping everyone else happy? 😂
Or simply knowing where on earth to start?

We’ve been around weddings since 2003 and photographed more than 2,000 of them, so we’re genuinely interested to know what couples find the hardest part of planning one in 2026.

Drop yours in the comments 👇

You never know… we might even be able to help with a few of them. 😊

Why are there SO many wedding fairs in September and October? 🤔💍

There’s actually a very good reason for it.

Summer is over, holidays are done and September traditionally marks the start of one of the busiest periods in the wedding industry.

For lots of couples, it’s when “we’ve got ages yet” suddenly turns into…

“Right… we really should start planning this wedding!” 😂

That’s why venues are packed with wedding fairs, open evenings and showcases around this time of year.

After photographing more than 2,000 weddings since 2003, we’ve seen the same pattern year after year.

The venue is usually the big one.

Once you’ve found somewhere you love and secured your date, that’s also the point where it’s worth checking the suppliers who can only be in one place on your wedding day.

Your photographer being a pretty important one. 📸

Interestingly, Paul Walker Photography doesn’t routinely attend wedding fairs. Most of our weekends are spent photographing weddings, and a large proportion of our bookings come through recommendations and people finding us directly.

So if you’ve already found photographers whose work you love, there’s no real reason to wait for a wedding fair before checking your date.

Already got yours? 💍

Drop it in the comments or WhatsApp us and we’ll happily check availability.

Why are there SO many wedding fairs in September and October? 🤔💍

If you’re planning a wedding, you might suddenly have noticed wedding fairs, venue showcases and open days appearing everywhere.

There’s actually a very good reason for it.

Summer holidays are coming to an end, life starts getting back to normal and September traditionally marks the start of one of the busiest periods in the wedding industry.

For lots of couples, it’s when “we’ve got ages yet” suddenly becomes…

“Right… we really should start planning this wedding!” 😂

And the wedding venues know it too.

That’s why September and October are packed with wedding fairs, open evenings and showcases. They’re a great way to see venues dressed for a wedding, pick up ideas, ask questions and get a feel for what you actually want from your day.

Interestingly, Paul Walker Photography doesn’t routinely attend wedding fairs.

Quite simply, most of our weekends are spent photographing weddings, and over the years a large proportion of our bookings have come through recommendations, previous couples and people finding us directly.

So if you’ve already found photographers whose work you love, there’s no real reason to wait for a wedding fair before checking whether they’re available.

After photographing more than 2,000 weddings since 2003, we’ve watched the same pattern happen year after year.

The venue is usually the big one.

Once you’ve found somewhere you love and secured your date, everything suddenly becomes real.

And that’s also when it’s worth starting to think about some of the suppliers who can only be in one place on your wedding day.

Your photographer being a pretty important one.

Not because you need to panic and book everything tomorrow.

But if you’ve found a photographer whose photographs you love and, just as importantly, someone you’d actually like having around for most of your wedding day, it’s always worth checking your date sooner rather than later.

So if wedding planning has spent the summer somewhere near the bottom of the to-do list, you’re definitely not alone.

September is here.

Wedding fair season is starting.

Maybe it’s time to get that planning hat back on. ❤️

And if you’re heading to a wedding fair over the next few weeks…

Try the cake. Have the prosecco. Collect 47 brochures you’ll probably never look at again.

That’s basically the rules. 😂

Already got your wedding date?

Drop it in the comments or WhatsApp it over to us and we’ll happily check our availability for you.

No forms. No obligation. Just send us the date and we’ll give you a yes or no.

Spent some of the Bank Holiday planning your wedding? ❤️

Let’s tick one more thing off the list.

We’ve made booking your wedding photography with PWP really simple.

Four hours. Full day. Or the full works.

Three straightforward packages, all with the same relaxed approach we’ve built our reputation on over more than 2,000 weddings.

No spending your wedding day posing for the camera.

No disappearing for hours while your guests are having all the fun.

Just beautiful photographs, real moments and the story of your day captured naturally.

And if you’re ready to get your photography sorted, there are a few ways to book.

Secure your date with a £200 deposit and pay the balance later, spread the cost using Clearpay, or pay in full and save 20% on your package.

Want to know if we’re free?

Just message us your wedding date and venue.

That’s it. We’ll take it from there. 📸❤️

Think wedding photography is just a camera and a memory card? 📸

This is a little closer to reality 😂

When you book a wedding photographer, you’re not really booking someone to turn up with a camera and press a button for eight hours.

You’re booking someone who knows where to be before the moment happens.

Someone who can organise the family photograph involving Uncle Dave, who has mysteriously disappeared to the bar.

Someone who can deal with timings changing, nervous brides and grooms, dark churches, chaotic dancefloors and approximately 97 people standing behind us taking the same photograph on their phones. 😂

Someone who knows when to step in, when to organise and, just as importantly, when to disappear into the background and let things happen.

Then, when the wedding is over and everyone else has gone home, the work carries on.

Sorting, selecting, editing and carefully finishing hundreds of photographs that tell the story of one ridiculously important day.

The camera is just the tool.

Experience is what you’re really booking.

Quick Bank Holiday wedding planning question…

Which one are you? 👀

A. We want EVERYTHING. From getting ready right through to the party.

B. Just capture the important bits beautifully.

C. Give us the full works. Photos, album, the lot.

D. We haven’t got a bloody clue. We only got engaged five minutes ago. 😂

There’s no wrong answer, by the way.

Every wedding is different, and what matters to one couple might be completely different to another.

Which is precisely why we don’t think wedding photography should be one-size-fits-all either.

So… A, B, C or D? 👇

Five weddings this weekend.

Four photographers out working.

Meanwhile, back at PWP Head Office…

Gunner has been left in charge.

As you can see, he’s really stepped up to the challenge.

Early reports suggest productivity is down, lunch breaks are up approximately 600%, and absolutely nobody is answering the phone.

He has, however, successfully occupied an entire sofa.

Management will be reviewing his position on Tuesday. 😂🐾

Venue booked? ✔️

Date sorted? ✔️

Guest list… sort of 😂

Photographer? 📸

If that last one is still sitting on the wedding to-do list, we can make that bit pretty easy.

Just send us your wedding date and venue and we’ll check availability for you.

No lengthy forms. No hard sell. Just tell us when and where you’re getting married and we’ll take it from there.

Simple as that. ❤️

2027 and 2028 dates are now booking.

We’ve photographed more than 2,500 weddings since 2000.

So, if we could give couples currently planning theirs a few little bits of advice…

Don’t build your day around what you think a wedding “should” be. Make it yours.

Leave more time than you think you need. Everything takes longer when 80 people are involved 😂

Don’t spend the day worrying whether everybody else is having a good time. They will be.

Make five minutes somewhere in the day just for the two of you.

And when the day finally arrives, STOP PLANNING.

You’ve done your bit.

Eat. Drink. Laugh. Dance. Hug people. Enjoy the bloody thing. ❤️

Because after more than 2,000 of them, there’s one thing we can absolutely promise you…
