Saturday 31st May. The Yorkshire Drone Flyers club will be running the Drone Zone at the BMFA Northern Area Fly-in at Pontefract and District Aeromodellers Club. (Pandas)

From 10am to 5pm, come and give drone flying a try. We will have a simple FPV track setup too for anyone who wants to give it a try.

A few of the YDF group recently visited Lancashire Mining Museum to discuss how we can help them with managing individual drone Flyers who have been flying over the Museum which sadly has caused concerns for members of the public and school children's organised visits, in relation to privacy, safety and insurance. Some drone pilots have also been what I will say as showing 'unprofessional behaviour' towards the Museum volunteers. Our plan is to arrange for a future Monday event to have a small number of YDF attend the Museum so they can see how we operate and knowing we are all insured for public liability. The place is perfect for Drone flying whether you like cinematography, photography, Fpv or just a general fly about both inside and outside.
There is a 5 min video I created on this site, so please go view this as it will give you a good understanding of what's there.
The next stage is for Andy Symons and myself (Adrian) to set up a suitable date and get this posted. This 1st drone flying visit will be limited because we do not want to overwhelmed the volunteers. Our aim is to open this place up for more events in 2025 that will also raise funds for this amazing Museum. O, and their is tea and cake in their cafe, so that's a tick in the right box. 😊

YDF Christmas meet up. 11am Saturday 28th December, Castle Hill, Huddersfield going ahead whatever the weather. In the event of poor weather we will adjourn for coffee, cake and chat.
