The Nieuw Statendam this evening sitting under a crescent moon. Far too warm to be hiking up to the top of the woods with a heavy backpack but the opportunity to get the moon setting over the cruise ship during the blue hour was worth the sweat and sore knees. By the time I got to the top of the woods I was soaked, then within 5 minutes standing in pretty strong north westerly winds I was freezing. Had packed a hoodie with me in the backpack so I was grand ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป

St. Colmcilles Holywood (Super Colour Infrared)

I shot these photos using a 590nm infrared filter, also known as a Super Colour infrared filter. This filter captures a mixture of light from both the visible spectrum and the infrared spectrum and results in quite a unique look.

Aida Luna & The Maypole

Back to the same spot again to photograph another cruise ship. I chose this particular one because of the big eye on the side of it. My plan was to align the eye with the Maypole. There was quite alot of haze in the lough tonight and I had to work the RAW file quite a bit to bring out the detail of the ship. It turned out ok but not as good as I'd hoped

Stood for 2 hours waiting for this. Either the ship was late or the timetable was wrong, but at least I didn't get rained on and the sun even came out for a while. Tried this shot on a different ship a couple of weeks ago but was five minutes too late. Chatted with a few people passing by and listened to some Boards of Canada on the headphones. Not a bad evening at all.
