It’s been a little while since I posted on Instagram… so what better excuse to return than British Sandwich Week?

Not strictly British perhaps, but a good BLT has to be one of life’s great comfort foods.

Crisp bacon, fresh tomato, crunchy lettuce and toasted sourdough. Simple. Messy. Perfect.

What a great couple of days at The Partridge Inn (part of the S.I Group) for Partridge Fest 2026.

BTW, it's on today too, highly recommend getting yourself down there for a great family day out!

A good sourdough doesn’t shout.

It’s all in the detail. Time, patience and a bit of trust in the process.

The crackle of the crust, the irregular crumb, the subtle tang that only comes from doing things the slow way.

No shortcuts, no rush. Just flour, water, salt and time doing what they do best.

Here’s one of me holding a loaf I prepared earlier… I look forward to appreciating it, toasted with cheese perhaps?!
