Guppypix - Gordon Upton Photography Action sailing photography. Available for events and regattas worldwide. I studied at the faculty of Art & Design at Sunderland Polytechnic.

I have been a photographer for over 40 years, and for many of them, specialising in aviation subjects and occasional landscapes. In the last 12+ years I have started to share my passion for sailing. I photograph all types of boats, from Tugs to Fast 40s and the SailGP. In particular, the 'A' Class Catamaran, as I sail one and have been photographing these most elegant, fast sailing craft. I now cover major international events for the 'A' class association as their International Editor.

One of the drawbacks of being a Safety Coxswain at Rutland SC and then the event photographer elsewhere, is that you are also sometimes obliged to quickly switch roles and become a rescue crewman for your driver. Today, as the wind rose to 19+ kts, camera was stowed and we assisted in several capsizes and boat breakages. Hence the reason for fewer than normal shots posted today. Happy to report all was safe and sorted.

Tuesday races. Frustrating conditions, low wind at times. Waited 2hrs, then a massive 20deg shift right. Then 10-13, ...
