Decided to pop over the border into Gloucestershire this morning to see if I could spot the Long Tailed Shrike (only the third UK visit of this vagrant bird). Arrived to find that the hundreds of photographers/twitchers present just a couple of weeks ago were no more, and that there were only half a dozen of us there.

The Shrike showed well for about 35 minutes, before preening and then disappearing into thick foliage.

Well worth the trip.

I've had to replace the clock face as the gold hands sweeping round for an hour made the clock into a gold disc which looked unnatural.
