Such true words ❀️❀️✨️✨️

~Burnt Out~

You cannot be like the rising Sun.
If you're feeling overwhelmed and overrun.
And it's near impossible to keep on shining bright.
When you're in constant state of fear or flight.

And don't punish yourself with thoughts
of self-doubt and blame.
If your roaring fire, dies down to-
that of flickering flame.

For it's hard to feel the sparks that inspire.
If the heaviness in your heart
threatens to extinguish-
the joy you feel from your passions and desires.

You see, flames need fuel to grow...
But flames burn out quickly-
if no time is made to wind down slow.

Time is never wasted if it helps you recharge
and reclaim your energy and shine.
When you know you're not feeling yourself,
you're not feeling 'fine.'

So, make the time you need-
to pause, reflect and find.
Step back a little from the constant pressure.
Relax and unwind...

Walk in nature, get out and about.
Sit down, watch a movie, read a book.
Clear your mind...or perhaps, just for once-
do absolutely naught.

No, you cannot be the light for others when
your own candle has burned out.

Side note: The truth is that I've been struggling with my mental health over the last few weeks. As someone who often tries to support others with theirs, I didn't feel ready to speak openly about my own struggles. However, right now, I need some space to reconnect with myself, find balance, and return to creating from a place of peace and joy as I did before.

One thing that has weighed on me is seeing aspects of my creative work, themes, and interests reflected elsewhere in ways that have felt increasingly personal...less inspiration and more imitation. While I've found that difficult at times, I've decided that my energy is better spent creating than dwelling on it. So that's exactly what I intend to do.

Thank you to everyone who has supported my work and my love of nature, magic, wonder, and poetry. I'll be spending the next few days focusing on creating art, writing, healing, and finding my spark again.

Don't worry, I fully intend to return with a roaring flame. πŸ”₯

See you soon. ❀️

Much love,
Demelza βœ¨πŸ’œπŸŒ™x

Puffins are nicknamed "clowns of the sea" and can flap their wings up to 400 times per minute, reaching speeds of 55 mph. These small seabirds, often weighing about the same as a can of Coke, have specialized beaks that allow them to carry over a dozen fish at once. ❀️✨️
