This is exactly why I photograph families. 🤍
Not because I want everyone looking at the camera.
Not because I want perfectly behaved toddlers.
Not because I believe every photograph has to be flawless.
I photograph families because childhood is made up of moments that disappear before we even realise they’re gone.
The way your toddler reaches for your hand.
The weight of your baby asleep on your shoulder.
The giggles that happen between poses.
The wind catching your hair.
The muddy sandals, the cuddles, the chaos, the quiet moments where you simply look at each other.
Those are the memories that matter.
This beautiful family joined me for one of my Summer Mini Sessions in Hotham, just as the sun was beginning to soften. Golden hour has a magic all of its own. The light is warm, gentle and flattering, giving your photographs that timeless, dreamy feel while creating the perfect atmosphere for little ones to explore, play and simply be themselves.
I’ll always guide you when you need it, but I’ll never ask your family to become someone they’re not.
Because years from now, your children won’t remember being told to smile.
They’ll remember how safe they felt in your arms.
And when they look back at these photographs, I hope they’ll feel it all over again.
