A few of my favourite photographs, and a little about me 🤍

I’m Tabitha — the person behind the camera at Tabitha Stark Photography. Rather than just sharing what I photograph, I thought I’d share a little of why I’m drawn to it.

✨ I’m a mum myself. Since having Alfie, photographs of the everyday things have taken on a whole new meaning. You don’t always realise what you’ll miss until it’s changed.

✨ I love warmth — in the light, the colours, and the feeling of a photograph. That’s why you’ll so often find me chasing the last of the evening sunshine.

✨ Hotham is one of my favourite places to shoot. Give me somewhere beautiful, a little space to wander and lovely evening light, and I’m happy.

✨ I’m drawn to closeness. A little hand wrapped around a finger, someone leaning into their favourite person, the way you hold your baby without even thinking about it.

✨ I love a beautiful portrait, but I want you to have photographs that remind you how being together felt, too.

✨ And I’m quite an emotional person — so if your gallery email comes with a lot of enthusiasm and a few too many emojis, that’s just me 😂🤍

If you could save just one photograph from your camera roll, which would it be? 🤍

I think mine would be one of those everyday photographs of Alfie that probably wouldn’t mean much to anyone else—but means everything to me.

It’s funny how a photograph becomes more precious with time. You suddenly notice how tiny their hands were, a favourite outfit you’d forgotten about, or a little expression they don’t make anymore.

That’s something I think about when I’m photographing other families too. Which picture will they come back to in ten years? What will they notice then that they barely give a second thought to now?

There’s something really special about photographing a season that feels so fleeting. 🤍

Jade & Michael’s maternity session was full of soft evening light, quiet little moments and that lovely mix of excitement and anticipation before everything changes.

We photographed their session in Weel, just outside Beverley — a place that means a lot to Jade as it’s the village she grew up in, which made it feel even more personal.

Here’s a few of my lovely clients from the last few weeks ☀️
I know it’s technically still summer… but it really does feel as though autumn arrived overnight, doesn’t it? 🍂

The warm evenings have suddenly turned cooler, the nights are drawing in and there’s that unmistakable autumn feeling in the air. I’m never quite ready to say goodbye to those long, hazy summer days—but there’s something so lovely about the season ahead too.

Golden grasses, earthy colours, cosy layers and little ones running through the leaves… autumn is such a beautiful time to capture your family exactly as you are right now.
