Primary school. TONWELL ST Mary's. 5 mins from Bengeo and Ware. WE NEED YOU!
Are you looking to start your child in nursery/reception in the next 3 years? OR are they struggling in a larger mainstream school, possibly they have SEND or unmet needs?
I know from personal experience that larger schools do not always want to, or have the time, patience, timing or expertise to adapt to children with SEND.
Tonwell is an amazing tiny village primary school.
Due to the size it's very low arousal for a mainstream, there's a nurture approach and it's very inclusive with well trained staff - it feels like a family. Head teacher and staff ethos that commits to support as a team. Great with SEND... outside forest school space. Support EHCP children and those that would not/do not cope in large mainstream schools without EHCP's. Currently 30 children at the school. And even with capacity for 64 pupils it means smaller class sizes and wonderful support.
Yet..... HCC are threatening consult for closure. If this is the kind of school you are looking for please fill out the expression of interest ASAP.

Families are fighting back and hard. The school already supports many children that are thriving in a small mainstream. We have a great chance of reversing the decision with expressions of interest.

I know there are primary children who are struggling at their existing mainstreams who would benefit greatly from a wonderful small inclusive school like Tonwell. My eldest son was being excluded fortnightly from Bengeo School during nursery and reception, and moving him to a small village school was the best thing we could have done. He got the understanding and support he needed (and was never excluded again). We sent our youngest son here because we knew he couldn't cope in a large mainstream like Bengeo and he's thriving. The LA state no children have expressed an interest for September, but in my experience many may never have even heard of it, and it's soooooo close. This school has been a hub for many children who have moved from other schools in Hertford, Ware and as far as Cheshunt.
