Alright. It’s recap time!
Last week I was the DOP on a very exciting & important project with the lovely humans at Distorted Rebels Productions. I messaged them on Sunday afternoon as they were looking for a DOP last minute, so we hopped on a call & went through it all.
Monday the shoot began, no idea what to expect, I’d never worked with them before & had no idea what to expect in all honesty. What greeted me was arguably one of, if not the most collaborative crew I’ve worked with in my career.
The Director (also on screen talent) Phoenix Benham - Actor was fantastic, explaining her vision perfectly in order for myself and the crew to execute it. She was a total pleasure to work with & was so accommodating!
The Gaffer .w.parker was awesome. Working with him made me understand why more established DOP’s have a favourite Gaffer. I would recommend every-time for all projects!
The Sound Op was (like myself) working with Distorted Rebels for the first time. He was fantastic & perfectly executed the sound side of things.
The SFX & MUA Alessia Secci was amazing. Simply put she was able to do some incredible SFX, so realistic that it made me double take several times when we were between scenes. Unreal talent! She also was very kind and gifted me some art during the week as an early birthday present!
Stills Photographer Ashley | Storytelling Photography was such a pleasure to work with. He captured some fantastic stills throughout the week & I cannot wait to see them all!
The Runner Leo Harper Gow, also a DOP in his own right was brilliant to work with, he was unbelievably helpful on set & even offered thoughts on different aspects of shots. What a guy!
The on screen talent Callum McGregor Se(Bas)tian SamanthaO_Actor Em-J Smith were all amazing in their own right. Such amazing talent & so lovely!
I’m running out of characters on this post. In essence, I cannot wait to work with all of them again. What a week!
