PROMPT SHEET - Find below a useful prompt sheet for your photography walk and writing. This is a useful guide to use, and to help you connect your images and words.

LOOKING DEEPER AND FINDING RHYTHM IN EVERYDAY LIFE.

QUOTE -
“There's nothing wrong with enjoying looking at the surface of the ocean itself, except that when you finally see what goes on underwater, you realise that you've been missing the whole point of the ocean. Staying on the surface all the time is like going to the circus and staring at the outside of the tent”.
Dave Barry.

Grab your camera/device, pen and paper!!! — Remember to take notes.

PHOTOGRAPHY TASK PROMPTS - Your photography walk and mission.

Take a photograph of anything that suggests music without showing an instrument or musician. Are there any shops playing music? There could be someone nodding or tapping their foot in time, like a metronome. Take your time to capture the moments, either with your camera (device) or in your notes. Try looking beyond the obvious. Where is the rhythm hiding? Maybe it’s the repetitive patter of footsteps on the pavement or the noise a café door makes when it swings open and shuts. Attempt to hear the area you're in, in images. This is a great task to look for similes, metaphors, and onomatopoeic language, i.e., the sound of shuffling feet is like the brush on a jazz drum — the automatic doors hissed open like a synth swell.

TAKE FIVE: Find a quiet space to (if with a friend or partner) discuss and organise your work so far.

Organise and choose which of your pictures to use. What have you written so far? Which piece, or pieces of writing, do you wish to focus on and complete? What do you feel is your strongest piece? Is there room to add or expand on your photography walk notes?

A song written after a relationship break up and a relapse on alcohol, the lady I was with had never seen me drink and stayed "all of a sudden you were drinking like a method actor"

THE METHOD ACTOR - by Chad Gazi

I say goodbye to myself and die.
I need a light of loving on my side.
A womb, a woman and a porcelain thigh.
But I’m red and black and blue and bloodshot-eyed.
Can’t you see the danger, lightning, lonely nights are fine. Lonely nights are fine.
I’m a wreck, a wretch, a rolling sketchy letch, let me make her mine.

I’m imagining I send you letters every night.
I feel I make connections with you baby in my mind.
I don’t care if it's imaginary, lady, let it, let it bind.
I’m a caged canary, northern monkey, dynamite, blowing up a mine.
Self-seeking looking, leaking, weeping, cavern, cave, a rope, a line.
I’m a freak, a meek, a need to eat, a sleep, a deeper meaning man.

Did I mention to you that I learned to cry?
Turned my back, raised my shoulders, and shuddered fine.
Oh, and I can place my feelings now, as all the others can.

Do you believe me? Sweet, lets meet tonight and make a little loving plan.
I’m into the tragedy of silver moons, romance and doom and gloom.
My intuition is a deeper issue, I can fu***ng read your mind.

She said, “did you forget the thousand times, that I said your mine?
You need to listen boy, and when you say you’ve got some hope and open mind.
Does that mean, to mean you let it slip, you lose your footing, grip on life?
Mr. I stood before you naked every single night.

I kept you close within my loving thoughts in cotton wool, with open palms and more.
It’s been strange to see you change and crack into the method actor alcoholic wicked ways.

I said, I didn’t mean to make you think I loved the drink more than you.
Its my friend, the medicine, elixir, trickster until the bitter end. I get jealous seeing it held by you.

It’s my liquid effigy, pour me in the sea, a nod to my old friend Leigh.
But I can’t see you see, you see it leads repeatedly to using intravenously, perpetual, passing out.

I would die for you, but not for you or you, Chet Baker’s Almost Blue.
I could’nt fly, oh my, I tried to die, to kill this mind and violent pilot light.

Ad-lib
Down and out and up and down, a roundabout, I need to shout....

Walking the middle of the orchard trees

Temptuous red apples, beside dark green leaves,

faceless in the mood of wet dew

Outside of myself, I step aside,

Inside, I hollow breathe.

The unpicked, un-worshipped, unsold and unreasonable

A million scripts you wrote in your mind to leave your body alone
And love was not the answer, your love was always sick of the gold
And the sighs we made on the beach when we let each other go
I could’ve written it better with pictures or the poetry, prose
And the love you fake and the love I fake, a Tinder swipe a scroll

Spiritual sister, now blister, how we bought out and now we are sold
And so wide we make it, our pride hit the lake, and it overflowed
And the cries I made in the white linen bright, lady, oh my lord
I couldn’t stitch it together and the weather was our head corner stone.

Break – Chorus
Work in progress

Deep intuition, I listen, all the white words are witches and wolves
How I howl it and fake it, a fantasy maze in a hollow road
My confessions a lesson, failing honesty, how to break in a soul.
Freakishly, from glimmer to shimmer to the bright. I’ll be the darkness you call.

Break – Chorus

I Am Trying to Tap Into My Own Frequency - Original music and words by Chad Gazi.
The words were from an old dictaphone note I had stumbled across recently. It sounds like I'm having a conversation with myself. To be frank, I find it really helpful to speak into something which doesn't offer advice. The words are written below, verbatim from the recording.

I am trying to tap into my own frequency — In these — giant festivals, full of people, full of — characters, caricatures.
Faking it, making it — taking it — snaking it.
Ah. Circles, sat in circles and — touching faces, and.
It was the most bizarre experience I ever had
I can remember the last story I had written about, floating above
I think the first time I meditated, the poem really got deep into meditation, and It said, “think of a place that you find peaceful” and I found myself floating above — Glastonbury.
Er yeah, I’ve got to find that story. Yeah, yeah. I need to start writing more — and to sort of.
Well, I’ve gotta go ez…I think the picture poetry and prose. Is it say, can be done solo. It really can be done solo.
I need to look at erm. Like Julia cam. Rea… even er. Yes, I can actually — give her a heads up or a nod in my booklet saying that you can go on a date with yourself (breathe). Yes its. Yea it’s not really stating, I can, I can mention a name, give her a nod — and er — wild mind — why not? I’d like to. If er, if that’s not — yea, but it’s not, it’s not plagiarism, it’s a continuation of — yea, cause er, they help me so much, so I think I’ll look into that. I think I need to speak to Sonya and Peggy. Erm. And see what they think — erm ye, I’m goanna do that, because tom and Yasmin they are coming up trumps. And because of them, but that doesn’t matter I know who I am and that’s all that matters. Sa+ved
