Yesterday I photographed a most wonderful wedding at celebrating the marriage of Laura & Bessie - two wonderful, beautiful ladies whose feelings for each other were too strong to not touch every single one of their wedding guests... well, and me, I might have had tears in my eyes a couple of times 🄹... or more!

What a wonderful event by , with super tasty food (thank you so much for feeding me ā˜ŗļø) and a team of the most wonderful suppliers as well:

When I saw this moment unveil in front of me, I knew it would make a black & white photo, I took it with that in mind šŸ˜

For years the moment I had found the hardest to photograph on a wedding day was the morning prep: the whole day’s timings are riding on it, there are MANY people involved so things can get complicated, often there isn’t anyone in the bridal party running it and there is a considerable amount of planning happening there and then instead of prior to the day, like: who carries whose phone in their purse, the order the girls will walk down the aisle in, who dresses the little ones, who is giving who a lift to the ceremony etc So many questions for the bride to answer and very little time to truly enjoy the morning for everyone involved.

I suppose it still is the most hectic moment of the day, but I am learning to let go more! There are things you can do that will help a LOT with the peacefulness of the morning though, and I run my couples through them always when we chat.

Lucie’s morning was calm, the girls’ hair & makeup ran smoothly, they had time to spend together which is not usually a given, and this moment of the veil being put on by Poppy Michelle Wedding Hair & Makeup took my breath away!

If you want to meet fab wedding suppliers who are in it to genuinely do what’s best for the couples getting married - look no further than the & fayre tomorrow, just north of Hereford.

The venue location itself is gorgeous, you have accommodation on site which is not something that’s always available with a tipi wedding aaaand you have (alongside the tipis), the very Java Tipis team & props/included extras & they are simply amazing as a team to have coordinate your day!

Wow - what a stunning bank holiday weekend!

First, helping .media to photograph the first Bristol Backyard Ultra organised by . Spending a 12h long day outside in Blaise Castle Estate, in the sunshine and the rain was the most incredible experience and I met truly inspiring people, got to know some of their stories and why they do what they do!

That was followed by photographing the wedding of a most adorable couple: Lucie & Ian, at , an absolutely stunning wedding venue just north from where we live, in Shropshire. The morning prep took place at Walcot, we then travelled to Shrewsbury for the ceremony which took place at the Greek Orthodox Church "The Church of the 318 Holy Fathers", and then we returned to Walcot for the rest of the celebrations.

The weather was kind to us on the Sunday and we had no rain at all - the guests got to enjoy the beautiful grounds, I had great light for the portraits session and my couple L & I were a delight to work with! More photos to come soon.

For me, small weddings are as much of a priviledge to photograph as larger ones. I give every one of my couples the same attention & focus, respecting their choice of the number of hours they'd like me to be there. I have an hourly package that allows each couple to book me for the length of time that works best for their wedding plans and priorities.

S & A wanted to have an intimate wedding with approx 45 guests, and Ludlow Castle as their backdrop. As there was no travel involved between the ceremony and the drinks reception location, a 3-3.5h coverage gave us all the time we needed for the core moments of their wedding, including time for just the couple and myself in the castle grounds for some stunning bride & groom photos.

We were blessed with THE best light towards the end of their 3h coverage. Despite it being a "middle of the day" coverage (2-5pm), which in the summer it means very harsh light for the couple photos time, thanks to the fact that it was actually March, we had golden hour light close to 5pm - happy dance was done by Cat šŸ’ƒšŸ»

If you're considering an intimate wedding, follow that inner voice and go for it. It can be every bit as romantic as a full day wedding. And if it is a summer's day you're going for, perhaps consider a bride & groom photoshoot after the day, somewhere beautiful in nature, in the golden light of the evening, just the two of you in your wedding attire and me 🄹 Because the softer, warmer evening light brings 50% of the atmosphere of your photos, and it's worth it.

Intimate wedding at The Feathers in Ludlow

My beautiful couple Nick & Holly chose to have an intimate wedding ceremony at the historic hotel . With its authentic half-timbered Tudor faƧade, the hotel is a landmark building in the heart of the picturesque market town of Ludlow.

We then went to a nearby park to take the group shots and a few beautiful bride & groom photos, including at their favourite cafe in Ludlow!
