“The air still holds what time won’t take,
a silence heavy, hard to break.
Barbed wire hums with ghosts of names,
lost to ash, to smoke, to flames.
The tracks run on, but lead nowhere,
just echoes of a world laid bare.
Footsteps fade, yet somehow stay
a million shadows in the grey.
No words can mend, no lens can show
the depth of all we’ll never know.
So we stand still, and softly say:
We remember. Always. Today.”
