ARE YOU ADVENTUROUS IN YOUR PHOTOGRAPHY ?
As a club we have small sections called Venture Groups. 6-8 members create the group and decide when they should meet, having complete freedom on their agenda. The Headley Adventure Group recently decided they would challenge themselves, to produce a picture based on Fine Art. This led to a long debate on the subject matter, then each member produced an image for their next meeting. Below was an idea by our President Kathleen Bird LRPS CPAGB of “Psycheldelic Birds” an eye catching image. This exhibits the freedom of such groups, which can be fun and educational as well as showing what can be achieved in today’s digital age.
At a recent Surrey Photographic Association competition with 16 clubs entering, one of our members, Bruce Gardner, was awarded a medal by a Judge who thought this was his favourite image in the Natural History class, hence this prestigious award.
The successful picture shown, is of a Cheetah carrying it’s prey back to feed his young. Also, a picture of Bruce Gardner with his medal.
Together with our extra less formal “Roll Up” meetings, this is providing all members the opportunity to show and discuss with other members their work and ideas to expand their photographic knowledge.
