Ten solo wild camps within two hours walk of home, Hayfield. Took me longer than anticipated, life gets in the way, but worth it for fantastic views over the Peak District from Kinder Scout. Included one night in a hammock when it got seriously cold.

Snap from last night on Ringing Roger.

Stretching the two hours walk from Hayfield rule but had to be done, just for the opportunity to call it Camp Ringing Roger. An improvement for sure. Camp No.8 took a while finding a slot but even the light pollution from Manchester couldn’t mask the Milky Way. Stunning sun rise followed.

Camp No.7 at The Wool Packs, Kinder Scout.

Featuring Easter Island style stone head and more importantly a Spaniel head. Dam big owl came looking at me a couple of times but must have decided I was too big for supper.

All pics taken on an iPhone 6 on auto. Next time out I’m taking my actual camera, see if that improves the pics, certainly increase pack weight!
