Alemoor Loch 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Well it has been a very cold week here in the Scottish Borders. On Friday night we got down to -10°c which may well be the coldest I have experienced.

I have been absolutely loving the cold weather and snow, it really makes everything so magical.

I am excited to see more snow forecast for this week. Can not wait 😁

I have finally been through my photos from my recent road trip around Scotland. Autumn is such a beautiful time in Scotland. The colour change is dramatic and I love the crisp air.

Moments after this photo a storm rolled through which killed the reflection.

Nigardsbrevatnet, Norway 🇳🇴

In the distance you can see Nigardsbreen, an arm of the Jostedal Glacier. It is the largest glacier in Europe.

It is devastating to think that these glaciers will be melted away in 80 years. Nigardsbreen alone has retreated 456 metres in the last 20 years.

I feel very privileged.

Ålesund, Norway 🇳🇴

After 4 days of very heavy rain and a bad forecast I didn't think I would see the sun again for the rest of my trip. Sitting in my hotel room I noticed some colour in the sky and set out in the rain to get to Byrampen lookout.

As another shower rolled through, the sun lit up the rain and delivered this very memorable sunset.

Rakssetra, Norway 🇳🇴

I have finally had a chance to download all 6235 photos I took in Norway onto my computer.

This would have to be one of my favourite hikes I did in Norway. Despite taking the wrong path which lead to a dead end and having to scale the mountain in the pouring rain, it was so worth it for these views!

I think this photograph completely sums up Norway. Absolutely stunning mountains, blue fjords, colourful grass roofed houses, green grass and snow. What is not to love!

Would you stay in one of these cottages?

Royal Mile, Edinburgh 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Here's a shot from last week that I shared on my Instagram.

On Monday I went for a walk around the city at sunset. This is the famous Royal Mile in the middle of old town.

It is so strange to see Edinburgh with such few people in the streets. But is sure makes for great photography opportunities.

Fun fact the royal mile is actually 1 scots mile, which is longer than an English mile.

City Chambers, Edinburgh 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Built in 1753 this building was constructed on top of a number of narrow streets known as a close. These closes are still accessible underground and is known as 'The Mary King's Close'.

Have you visited Mary Kings Close?

For the next month Edinburgh is my new home! After working through lockdown I needed some down time to rejuvenate and there is no better place than Edinburgh!

Here are a couple of pictures that I shot from Princes Street Gardens. Edinburgh Castle is situated in the middle of town and dominates the skyline. Dating back to the 12 century this castle has a long history!

Keep an eye out for more Edinburgh photographs. Also, don't forget to check out my instagram stories for more pictures!

Melrose Abbey 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿⠀

Just before lockdown I went and checked out the cute town of Melrose in the Scottish Borders. In the background you can see the Melrose abbey. Built in the late 1300s it is the final resting place of Robert the Bruce heart.
