We appologise for the temporary closure of the waterfall and hotel car park due to resurfacing work. It will be open again on Thursday February 26th. However the Inn, Hotel, Cafe and Waterfall are still open for business.

We are not touching the 'avenue' towards the visitor centre save for some thinning in due course.

The waterfall today February 9th as we carry out a tree survey. It looks like we will have to fell a number of trees with ash die back later this year.
To the right of the waterfall you will see the recent rock fall. That is why we insist people do not walk behind the waterfall these days. We want to see you again - and in one piece!

Not at lot of people know this....

Yvonne, custodian of Hardraw Force, welcomed a very special family in early 2025, when non other than Holywood actress Margot Robbie and her husband Tom Ackerley, together with their young son, paid us a private visit.
"They wanted a very quiet low key visit, and stayed about an hour." She remembers.
Margot had been staring in Emerald Fennell's new blockbuster, Wuthering Heights, filmed in Yorkshire and due to be released on February 13th.
"Tom even took to the water and bravely plunged into the pool below the Force, perhas mindful of movie star, Kevin Kostner who was filmed showering under the Force in the 1991 film Robin Hood Prince of Thieves." She added.

UPDATE:
I AM SORRY THAT AS I HAVEN'T RECIEVED ANY SUGGESTED DATES FROM THE BRASS BAND EVENT ORGANISER AND IT IS NOW MAY, WE WILL NOT BE HOLDING A CONCERT THIS YEAR.
FINGERS CROSSED FOR 2027, OUR 25TH ANNIVERSARY YEAR.

A number of local brass bands will be playing at the famous bandstand in the natural ampitheatre below Hardraw Force.

Some of our visitors watching the red squirells today. We have seen up to eight at one time! There are usually two about behind the Heritage Centre, along with two lesser spotted woodpeckers, treecreepers, nuthatches and even a pair of kingfishers!.
