date! I live in Hampshire UK, with my understanding hubby and 2 daughters and my boutique studio allows me to create art in a safe and luxurious space.

August is pretty much done. ✅
Autumn is knocking on the door. 🍂
We survived the great heatwave of 2026. 🥵
We made it through everyone's 'omg how amazing is our holiday/day out/party' show cases.
(SEN mum's are you with me? FFS 😅)
For some of us, school holidays end this week. 🕺

We've done pretty good, haven't we?

I've had loads of headspace between shoots and it's been - interesting.
(See previous post).

Now I'm staring at the month ahead, half booked and buzzing with ideas.
This means space for some test shoots! 📷

Now these shoots, you know well if you follow me.

Can we discuss peri-f**king-menopause for a minute?
WTAF.

You might have noticed my online sharing has been sporadic and a little limp at times over the last couple of years.
I'm trying really hard lately, I promise.
Being an SEN mum with zero village brings it's own challenges too!
Award for the hubby and oldest daughter please. 🏆

Peri (and a lovely serious illness in 2025 added in - lovely 🙄) has completely kicked my arse!
I can't have HRT, so I just have to ride this out.

The brain fog. JFC. 😕
I forget words. 🤔
I look for my phone while I'm ON it. 🔍
I stare at walls for fun. 😍
My ear itches?

I'm told that apparently us magical, neurodiverse women completely lose it at this point as we simply can't mask.
Does this mean in real life I'm a fuzzy headed loon?
Who knows. 🤷

I'm just riding this out, camera in hand, focused on you.
In my happy place, creating and caring.

Just a little throw back to 2023. How time flies!

To feel empowered in a partnership with your hoofed best friend is an incredible thing.

I still create these for clients, just not recently - bo***ir just got too busy to persue this as a main style.
I miss it.💕

Let's talk about b***s.
As a midwife in a previous life and an owner of my own b***s, I know quite alot about them. ✍️
In fact I believe I'm well qualified to chat about them.
Mid shoot, we often do!

I had a complicated relationship with mine for a long time.
I didn't know how much I loved them until they became unrecognisable in pregnancy.
Seriously, wtaf is it with the saucer nips?
As a midwife I assumed those b***s just happened to have them.
Not that they APPEARED! I guess it's about being a baby's target.

Although the nips recovered, my b***s going from 'perky' to 'pendulous' and them staying like that, was alot to handle (pardon the pun). 🤲

Although proud they'd fed my babies, the loss of the old me, was a bit traumatic.
I had no idea how important my body was to me and my self image until then.
I called them 'flappy tatties', I was mean to them. 🥺

It literally took years and years to come to terms with my new shape.
2 babies, and more recently, serious illness, has generally done a number on my brain and self confidence.
However, I really think I'm there now.
This is me and my body IS beautiful, to me. Sod beauty standards. 😍✌️

Separately, I also volunteer at Macmillan.
Most weeks I meet women coming to terms with a breast cancer diagnosis.
And over the years, in the studio, I've also photographed plenty of women facing it, or living after it.
What an honour that is.
Two completely different parts of my life. I reflect on that alot.
Really puts my dramas into perspective, right?❤️

Hands up if you can think of the perfect prop for your shoot?
It can be ridiculously fab to bring along a personalising prop for a couple of reasons.

The main one is that this is for YOU, who you are in 2026, what are you passionate about?
How do you want to flex or express yourself?
Celebrate YOU, your achievements or simply record in a cheeky or simply provocative way, exactly who you are.

The other one is a gift.
Your loved one might know about the shoot, but they won't be expecting THIS IMAGE.
Yes, the shoot is mostly for you, but it's fun to sneak the prop in.
Oh the sneakiness required!

In that moment of the shoot, we think of them, creating the image that says 'I see you, I love you and thankyou for being my greatest champion.'
This is especially true if they've walked a hard journey with you, picked you up when you were down.
Repeatedly telling you how amazing you are, when you couldn't (and might not still) see it.

I adore the reaction in your Reveal Session as they do a double take and say 'is that my...?' 😂
