Amelia and Chris’s first date was in front of the old Brighton pier so it was lovely to walk down there for some couple portraits. Even though I had to keep stopping to remove stones from my sandals, there was a threatening grey sky behind us and a boat was on fire in the distance, we had a great time and these two were a joy to work with. I’ve definitely fallen in love with Brighton weddings and I think these two are just brilliant.

This post is an ode to:

1. Amelia and Chris who were wonderful and felt like friends (and who also warned me they’d be awkward in front of the camera but ended up being one of the most natural couples I’ve worked with!)
2. Brighton Town Hall - it was my first time shooting a wedding there and I hope for many more. Loved it! I will be dreaming about that staircase and the natural light on the top floor
3. Micro-weddings. I think they will always be my favourite - they feel so special and so intimate and I had one myself so they feel like me.

The half hour before photographing a proposal can be very stressful! There’s one chance to get it right. And in this instance, it nearly did go wrong. Yesh and Sam walked past the planned spot and started off down the hill to the beach. I sat in the rain wondering if I’d got the wrong people or if I needed to chase them! Fortunately, Yesh realised and sent me a message to say they were on their way back to the viewpoint and I was able to breathe again.
It was completely worth the stress, though. These two are wonderful together and embraced the weather when it started to rain.
This proposal was the highlight of a trip down memory lane. Yesh and Sam were in Sussex revisiting old haunts from their time at uni in Brighton. Here’s to them 🥂

Meet Katie and Ash - two of the warmest, kindest people I’ve worked with. These two are absolutely made for each other and this wedding was full of joy.

Guest Bingo was great fun, I love a game of Mr and Mrs, golden hour hit perfectly, the backdrop of green hills reminded me of my own wedding and I was treated like a friend. Perfect.

A note to other vendors - excellent supplier treatment from if anyone is shooting a wedding there soon!

Some couples know how to throw a really good party and Steph and Gaz are amongst the best!

I can’t believe I haven’t shared photos from this epic trip yet.

Back in September, I joined on an expedition with , starting in Nuuk, Greenland and sailing through the Northwest Passage.

In short: I loved it.
In long: I loved Greenland’s colourful houses which locals welcome you into for kaffemilk, the way the sun hits the ice during sunrise and sunset, the sled dogs roaming on nearby islands during the summer months, the waves crashing against the bedroom windows at night, zodiac rides, landings cancelled because of polar bears on the shoreline, watching locals compete in finger pulling, 1am Northern Lights tannoy alerts, going down in a submarine (a submarineforgoodnesssakewhoevenami). And that’s before I even get started on describing the Viking Octantis!
