I’m a Welshman living in London who loves to travel and take beautiful photographs, whenever and wherever I can. After working a regular jobs, and still working as a Network Engineer, I was bored of the 9-5 routine that plagues so many of us. In short, photography and travel came to mind! So after a year I have started this website to share my work and experiences. I aim to make a living from doin

g this alone, however experience and more travel is needed, so I am going to share that journey and hopefully inspire you to do something that you are passionate about, but may think you do not have the time, energy or money to do so. My photography, I believe, is getting and better, but I have a long way to go…

I love going to new places and try to capture the beauty of it. I will be the first to say that I am not a professional, but its all about your own perception of beauty, and truth be told, I just love doing this! I consider this sort of job a dream. I want to share my story with all of my travels and photography in hope to inspire those who want to do something similar. Colin 😉

What a great wedding it was on Saturday. Starting at The Story in Durham, then moving on the great city of Newcastle.

I miss photographing in the city. I did it a lot during my street photography days, but shooting weddings in the city is really special. It can be overwhelming, with the people all around and the ever varying spots to get an image, but it’s also incredibly exciting!

Megan & Duncan easily fitted in with the city. They were in their element, and I think you can agree, they looked incredible and ice cool.

Some wedding photos you don’t tend to see on Instagram.

Instagram is very good at showing you the most romantic wedding pictures. These are usually bride and groom portraits, bride prep, first dance. But weddings are full of tiny details that are worth capturing.

These little moments help tell the story of the day. It could be a bride taking a well earned break, or someone checking the photo they took on their iPhone, the clinking of glasses after a speech.

They bind together the main events that we normally see on Instagram.

The dance floor is the part of the day where everyone, including the bride and groom, and even me, can let their hair down, get loose and let go!

It’s a busy day for everyone, and by this stage, nearly everyone wants to get on the dance floor and just enjoy themselves.

The formalities of a wedding day are over. The tension of the day has gone.

It’s the time when everyone seems to love the camera. I love it because I can be invisible or up close and personal, capturing those fun dance floor photos. I can more or less completely relax and enjoy myself, and if I’m lucky, have a drink or two myself.

It’s not (just) about you.

Weddings are nothing without your guests.

The friends and family that made you both what you are.

It’s what matters most. It’s not the venue, the decor, the dresses, the weather. It’s all about the people you love.

They will share laughter, tears, joy, pride with you.

You can’t pick people off the shelf or on an online store. That’s what makes them so special. That’s why it’s so important they are photographed on your day.

Flowers, table settings, jewellery, its import too.

But it’s the people that will stick in your memory.
