My first experience behind the wheel of a Maserati probably couldnā€™t have come in a better place.

Over the past few days, Julie and I have been winding our way across Tuscany, from vineyard roads and hilltop villages to the occasional gravel track that looked questionable at best.

Iā€™ve also learned that Italian drivers operate by a slightly different set of rules. After a few hundred miles Iā€™m finally starting to get used to it, although being overtaken by a camper van was a new experience.

Thereā€™s something rather fitting about exploring Italy in an Italian car.

This time last week, I was riding solo through the Scottish Highlands, trying not to miss my flight home.

Over the course of two days, I covered around 380 miles and experienced, without a doubt, the most stunning roads and landscapes Iā€™ve ever seen. I donā€™t use the word breathtaking lightly, but there were moments where I genuinely had to stop and take it all in. A few even brought tears to my eyes.

Scotland has been on my list for as long as I can remember, and whenever I mentioned I had never been, people looked at me like I was mad. Well, I can finally cross it off the listā€¦ although something tells me this wonā€™t be my last time there.

All of this was made possible thanks to Å koda UK, who invited me up to celebrate 25 years of the Superb and 125 years of Å koda. What made the trip even more special was learning that the brand actually started life building bicycles and motorcycles long before cars, which made the whole four wheels and two wheels concept feel incredibly fitting.

Getting the opportunity to ride sections of the North Coast 500 on my own bike is something Iā€™ll never forget. It genuinely felt like a bucket list experience.

The sort of car that encourages unnecessary coffee trips ā˜•ļø

Iā€™ve been spending some time with the CUPRA Formentor VZ3 over the past couple of weeks, mainly using it for the sort of driving I enjoy most, early mornings, coffee stops, and taking the long way home. You can quite happily cruise along in comfort, or press the CUPRA button and wake the car up a little when the road opens up.

I have particularly liked this matte grey as well. In certain light, it almost takes on a subtle green tint, which works really nicely against the copper details and carbon fibre throughout the interior.

A very easy car to spend time in.
