What else can you do when the actions high up in a bright spring sky, back lit and impossible to expose for no matter how good your dynamic range js! Go black and white and slide the dehaze full whack and call it art 😂

The famous Winterwatch Fox 🦊
Wasn’t just raptors I saw whilst sat in the hide, this fox came along having a sniff around on the edge of the marsh. Safe to say a lot of the small waders lifted pretty quickly!

Well I clearly couldn’t wait for my story poll to finish! Have been way too excited to share this special early morning photo. The light was incredible and to spend near on two hours with this barn owl was truly a moment. From a frosty start to pastel colours to pure golden rays! As I’m sure everybody will know mornings like this produce the best images. There’s more to come!

As you all know, these last two weeks has been absolutely awful in regards to our typical British weather. If it hasn’t been raining with flood warnings or covered in a shroud of cloud it’s been blowing a gale. But at the same time we’ve been lucky to have a couple of spells off nice weather and one of them was last Sunday.
It’s not often that the low tide times and sunset meet together and the little sanderlings wake from there sleepy days to quick let’s eat and that’s what happened with this one and a couple of others. As the tide pushed out revealing the food infested mud flats this little one went on a right hunt, probing literally ever inch of the sand. As you can imagine 100s of shots were captured with the golden light kissing everything it touched. Bit it wasn’t until the sun had finally set that the tones turned more cooler and softer and that’s when this image was captured. Yes I know the auto focus has locked on to the feathers which is the only thing I’m gutted about but still as an image goes I was still so happy!

Still one of my many favourites to shoot especially when they come close! Such beautiful birds!

For your best chance in photographing these birds venture out in the colder months. Bearded t**s generally show better in the colder months with little wind, when they venture up to eat seeds changing from the summer / breeding diet of insects!

Went up to Brighton to see the yearly Starling Murmuration on Monday after we had the glorious clear skies. And the starlings did not disappoint! Out of all the murmurations ive seen this one was huge! Literally 1000s and 1000s took to the skies. It was hard to photograph the rolling wave effects that they created in the sky but to watch was pure mesmerising!
