Pereseid Meteor above Ogden Windfarm with Hayes Lane, Mixenden lit up in the lower left corner

So after creating a timelapse of the eclipse on wednesday I headed back out with the camera a little after midnight and went back to the hill ready for the incoming meteor shower.

3 hours and 430 photos later I headed home to get some much needed sleep. Having now painfully inspected each one I was a bit dissapointed to find only 15 images had any sign of a Perseid meteor.

This one however is the best of the bunch.

As candid photographs go this well timed shot of a chap seemingly waving back at the camera whilst spinning at speed is one of my favourite photos captured at the Mixenden Gala yesterday.

Capturing the image, for most part, is the easy bit but also just the tip of the iceberg!

The magic happens after the fact, when loading them onto my laptop for processing on Adobe Lightroom.

Out of 100+ images taken on a single walk i might only come away with 20 that Im completely happy with.

This one is absolutely one of them so here's an 18 second clip showing 30+ minutes of work on this single photo.

Whether its a wedding, community event or im just out getting candid shots of the family, every single photo I see as worthwhile gets this exact same treatment to ensure those i'm working for are happy with what I produce.

Storm clouds gathering over Kilnsey Crag, one of the Yorkshire Dales most recognisable limestone cliffs. Framed by summer wildflowers and the old stone buildings tucked into the hillside.

To me it's a scene that perfectly captures the rugged beauty of Yorkshire.

Taken today from Kilnsey Trout Farm during a trip out to the Yorkshire Dales.

The power, precision and perfect timing of a beach cast.

Action photography is all about timing. I was pretty pleased to capture this split second shot as the rod loaded up and the lure flew towards the horizon.

Sometimes the smallest things capture our attention the most.

While people wandered the beach beneath the towering remains of the old coastal defences at Kilnsea, one explorer seemed completely lost in their own world, fascinated by a single tiny rock discovered amongst the stones.

A quiet moment of curiosity, set against a landscape shaped by history, time and the sea.

A moment of stillness in a world full of flow.

I built this cairn as the sun began to dip, finding the perfect balance between the heavy grit of the earth and the fleeting glow of the sky which burnt above with the final, brilliant embers of the day.

The tide has likely taken the stones by now, but the memory of that silent moment now remains in this shot 😊

Handful from a Birthday Hike upto Stoodley Pike yesterday.

Admittedly it was the first time in my 37 year existence that i've ever actually been up there.
