Today we received appreciation of our clubs efforts on raising donations for the food bank in April.
Now onwards and upwards to achieve our President Steve's 2023 Food Bank Challenge before 30th June with the full support of Halesowen Golf Club. 2023 items required! Deposit what you can donate at the golf club or at Halesowen BID in the Town Centre.
Let's do this!

We have reluctantly decided that we will not be holding a Black Country Run in Halesowen this year. We do however hope to reinstate the event in 2024. Whilst the Road Race is still well supported, since covid the number of participants in the Fun Run ( the main element for raising charitable funds for your own charity) has remained at extremely low levels. With the financial crisis also impacting upon the affordability of families to take part, despite our fair pricing, and the amount of input and work required to hold events of this type we are hoping for renewed enthusiasm in 2024 to make the event as successful as in pre covid years. Thousands of £'s have been raised by both the Rotary Club and individual fundraisers over the years since inception in 2012.
Thank you to all our past supporters and entrants and we hope to see you again in 2024.
In the meantime if you would like to help directly with the event in the future please contact us and also spread the word via social media.
We need all the help we can get.

Rotary yesterday at Halesowen lights switch on. Wonderful day! The children loved it. Thanks to Santa for being there!
A story to share - a young girl who could not speak English came to us and through her Mother asked us if she could have a special word with Santa which she did. Her mother used her phone to interpret it. She said "Please Santa - can you stop the war?" She was Ukrainian. Utterly heartbreaking that a young girl should have to ask this.
Makes us all realise how lucky we are despite our own problems.

For the avoidance of doubt here is the statutory road closure notice prepared by Dudley MBC Road Management Team.
Certain roads that are closed may only be for a few minutes to let the Baton Relay convoy progress around its course. So do not expect full all day road closures on some roads and of course safe access to areas will be granted.
These are restrictions that are imposed upon us by authorities for everyone's safety so let us all enjoy this historic day in amongst our annual event ( weather permitting!).
