https://lnk.bio/paulwilkinsonphotography Paul and his team, have always believed that it's not solely about the images (though the string of national and international awards says that these are beautiful!) but more it's about the entire service from start to finish. Paul and his team make sure that through each and every step - from your initial enquiry through to the excitement of picking up you

r finished wall frames or albums - you are looked after in a uniquely personal and friendly way, taking as much time as you’d like to create a truly once-in-a-lifetime experience for you and your family. And it’s that attentive approach (coupled with his award-winning images of course!) that has made Paul one of the most sought-after portrait and wedding photographers in the UK.

August has been a joyous month of celebrations!

Weddings, engagements, anniversaries and birthdays, including one particularly special wedding for an old friend who was also one of our very first commercial clients when we started the business. There’s something rather wonderful about still being asked to capture the important moments all these years later.

We’ve also included a tiny sneak peek from a fabulous post-wedding shoot in London. Just a couple finished so far, but the luxury of time, London as a backdrop and a brilliant couple to photograph... what could be more fun?

Alongside all the celebrations, there’s been plenty of commercial work too. More with Ben for Health² an ongoing project with an amazing hotel exploring light and shade, and a few fun days out on location with Hearing Dogs for Deaf People , including creating images for the amazing Great British Dog Walk in October.

I’ve somehow squeezed in some writing too, with a new Professional Photo article, Low-Key Warmth from a Domestic LED, and new content for Mastering Portrait Photography

A huge thank you, as always, to everyone who has stepped in front of my cameras this month, and to all of the brilliant people who keep inviting us back to create pictures for them.

A very happy August. Here are a few of our favourite images...x

July Highlights

If July taught us anything, it's that sunshine makes photographers very happy.

We've spent as much time as possible outside, making the most of the beautiful Turn End Gardens. Every summer we're reminded just how lucky we are to have such an incredible space on our doorstep.

We've welcomed some wonderful families to the studio this month, photographed lots of laughter, and made a new four-legged friend in the rather magnificent German Shepherd, Indy, who completely stole the show.

Wedding season is in full swing too. One particular day will stay with us for a long time. The happiest bride, the biggest smiles, and a ceilidh that seemed determined to keep everyone on the dance floor. Exactly the sort of wedding we love to photograph.

Commercial work has taken us all over the place this month. From celebrating science at the Royal Institution, to photographing teams, innovation and some fascinating people with equally fascinating stories. One shoot in particular deserves a mention... an author whose new book is called The Art of Getting Hammered. I can honestly say it was the first time we've used a hammer as a portrait prop. Somehow, it worked rather well.

Away from client work, we've also had a brilliant month with Mastering Portrait Photography. We spent an evening with photographers from The Society of Photographers exploring continuous light, enjoyed another fantastic one-to-one training day in the studio, and recorded new tutorials that will be appearing on Mastering Portrait Photography over the coming months.

Looking back through the photographs, what strikes me most isn't the variety of locations or subjects. It's the people. Every month brings new faces, new stories and new challenges, and I still feel incredibly lucky that photography gives us a front-row seat to all of them.

Here's a little glimpse of July... xx

Well, it had to happen (quietly sobs): the Land Rover Defender has gone.

It needed a load of work doing, and with everything else we've got on, it was just too big a project. So we did what you do — and leaned right into the future. Not hybrid. Full plug-it-in-and-plan-for-the-coffee-stops electric.

We've only gone and got a VW ID Buzz. And. I. LOVE. It.

Yes, the Defender had that go-anywhere rustic charm, but now I can park in normal car parks, I'm exempt from Oxford's congestion charges and we'll have dry feet when it rains (Defender owners will know what I mean) so I'll take the win!

Now (takes a deep breath) WE NEED YOUR HELP.

We're deciding what design to put on the sides, and we've come up with a few ideas.

Swipe through all six then drop your favourite(s) in the comments (just the number, 1 to 6) and any thoughts you've got.

THANK YOU AS ALWAYS FOR YOUR KEEN EYES AND YOUR HELP! 🙏

June Highlights - Light, Laughter & Learning!

June has absolutely flown by. Looking back through the diary, it's been one of those months that's been wonderfully varied, and that's one of the things I love most about this job.

It seems to have been a very musical month, with the pleasure of photographing both an incredible clarinettist and a wonderfully talented tenor horn player. It's always fascinating to photograph people who are so passionate about what they do.

Teaching has also been a real highlight. From a series of 1:1 Masterclasses, to an evening with The Societies of Photographers exploring The Language of Light, and a day wandering around Oxford hunting for beautiful light and interesting locations, it's always a privilege to spend time with photographers who are passionate about improving their craft.

Commercial photography continues to keep us wonderfully busy. Although many of the projects are still under embargo and have to remain behind the scenes for a little while, it's a real privilege to be trusted with them, and we look forward to sharing more when the time is right.

Alongside all of that, we've photographed some lovely families, spent time with another gorgeous Hearing Dogs puppy in training, and shared plenty of laughs along the way. Those are the moments that always remind me why I love photographing people and the relationships they share.

Away from the cameras, I managed to steal a birthday weekend with the family. It was the perfect chance to recharge before another busy few weeks.

Thank you to everyone who trusted us with their photographs, invited us to teach, or simply spent time with us during June. We never take it for granted.

Here's to whatever July has in store! x

Last week we had the pleasure of hosting a fantastic group of photographers from The Society of Photographers for an evening workshop all about The Language of Light.

We spent the evening exploring how different lighting patterns can be used to shape, sculpt and add character to a portrait, before putting the ideas into practice with plenty of hands-on shooting.

A huge thank you to Katie Mawer for modelling and to everyone who joined us and made it such an enjoyable evening.

Our Elinchrom lights performed brilliantly and we can’t wait for the next one!

🐾 We Need Your Help...

Over the past few months we've had the absolute pleasure of photographing some wonderful dogs as part of our Muddy Paws Project.

We've laughed, got muddy, met some incredible characters, and created photographs that celebrate the special bond between dogs and the people who love them.

Before we go any further, a huge thank you to everyone who took part. We have loved every minute of the project and meeting so many amazing dogs (and their humans!).

Now comes the difficult bit... we need to choose which image will take pride of place on our studio wall.

After much debate (and a fair amount of indecision!), we've narrowed it down to our four favourite layouts. To everyone whose image isn't in the final selection, please know it was an incredibly difficult decision. There were so many photographs we loved, and choosing just four felt almost impossible.

So we'd love your help.

Which one gets your vote? 🐾 1, 2, 3 or 4?

Pop your favourite in the comments below and feel free to tell us why.

We can't wait to see which one comes out on top! ❤
