Second photo-bomb of Fountains abbey - you could spend a whole day just marvelling at the architecture, actually we did, till sundown! My favourite old phrase 'wherever you look, there's something to be seen'. What a beautiful world 😀

A wonderful day at fountains abbey. A beautiful sunset full of colour for this incredible setting and a fantastic walk - I encourage everyone to go there. A peaceful and tranquil setting with a majesty that is hard to equal, especially with such fantastic weather. This is one 'classic shot' of many taken this day. More to follow.

Beautiful sunset in Perugia, Umbria in Italy. The glow extends from the sky to over the buildings. What a tranquil, relaxing area to spend time in. Italy has all sorts of incredible sights but the old towns are particularly special for me.

Nb. It rained prolifically later on but, even that was fun (and relatively short lived)!

The brilliance of the northern lights - despite the cold, it never fails to amaze. Always a spectacular to witness.

Whenever seen it reminds me of my favourite phrase from Marcus Aurelius 'look up, see the stars and find yourself running with them'.

It has been an amazing time for photography recently - most notably for the season of the . October's full moon - sometimes called or . It's traditionally a time when preparing for winter, people would hunt to preserve meat for the colder spell coming, in Anglo-Saxon times.

Interestingly, it is also named the .

Due to not having the most incredible super zoom lens, this is shot, handheld, with a 105mm at f8 - you can really see the details still though. Happy with this incidental shot - some interesting work coming up.

Did anyone capture the northern lights in the UK last couple of nights? Some parts of the UK were truly spoiled, especially up north due to the extreme geomagnetic activity! However, down south last night on the way to kimmeridge bay I was hoping to capture some lights again - no such luck but beautiful coastline as ever. Did you know the is nearly 100 miles long?! Egads begosh. Each bit I've visited has had its own charm and beauty.

Next couple of weeks we return to where it all began for me - and the breathtaking Lymington and Hurst rocks hoping for some nice weather - forecast looking a bit sketchy!

Arriving last night in time for some light stopping on the way to capture this beautiful inlay with a long exposure to blur the water. Definitely the ! Calming with the gentle swish.

Sometimes the life of photography doesn't always play ball - but, that's what I find so much fun about it when you get the shot right! Best tip, go back time and again to the same spot and through perseverance you'll get the shot you envisaged, even if the weather doesn't behave the first few times. This was a consolation shot after coming back from Devon for, potentially, a milky way outing with a friend who's always wanted to see it. I always maintain wherever you look, there's something to be seen. And despite the planning, rain stopped play, BUT, we got some good shots and this is one where I pulled over 'off the cuff' and got a lovely 'foggy' shot as the sun was going down. The colours are amazing and I just had to capture it!

'thoughtless sunbeams shattering the broken sky' feat....me! When pushed to go to our beautiful capital city I am fearful of strikes and delays like the best of us. However, upon coming out of said meeting, and in the centre of the hustle and bustle, this scene greeted me. Ansel Adams said famously 'the best camera you have is the one with you' and whilst we all have very capable smart phones these days that would suffice, I'm always the optimist and carry gear with me everywhere and on this day I was glad I did - the sky was so saturated and a thought of 'polluted city's' was seen in such beautiful light. London bridge here in a full pano.

Driving back through my old stomping ground - the sun was shining perfectly for a 'me classic' sunsetty shot. You can make out the cathedral in the backdrop with a lesser seen perspective. So I briefly stopped, off the cuff, after a lovely family day out.

London trip today - amazing to see on the 'commute' back it was desolated.....here anyway - and on a Friday night?! Going down to the underground. Having a charity event to my photography work means to go up and 'schmooze' with people about the latest fundraisers and initiatives that help raise vital funds for a good cause.

Taking a stroll at a remote wilderness cabin with a warming berry juice, stretching my legs through the trees gave this beautiful spectacle in the clearing - blessed with the amazing aurora again. It was swirling and using the 'curtain vertical movement '. The crunch of snow underfoot, the chill factor and the feeling of solitary enjoyment that this show was put on just for me (and 7 others but hey!) I love the aurora in its many guises of displays - it is one of my wonders of the natural world.

If any of you are wanting a fantastic holiday do checkout you won't be disappointed - this is an entirely shameless plug, but I've been on lots of northern lights holidays and sell many prints for it, I'm grateful I do a job I love but, these people know their stuff and tailor make holidays to be the best potential for you whatever you want. I'm an aurora fan, but even if it didn't grace me with it's appearance, there was plenty to make this an amazing trip. I encourage everyone to check them out.

I haven't been very active on here for a while - purely because I'm delighted to say I've become a father of a beautiful baby boy and he's needed much care - my wife is a perfect, lovely lady and has afforded me time to pursue my business and nurture and support our family to the best potential. But I am back in a tour de force and will be spamming everyone of my followers with baby pics before long - you have been warned!
