Let’s talk about things couples worry about…yet rarely say out loud.

“I’m really awkward in front of the camera.”
“My partner hates having photos taken.”
“We don’t even know what we want our photos to look like.”
“We’re worried it’ll feel staged or forced.”

If you’re thinking this… you’re not alone.

One of my recent grooms told me he felt anxious about his wedding photos because he’s never been comfortable in front of a camera. They also admitted they didn’t really have a clear vision, they just knew they wanted it to feel right.

That’s completely normal.
Most couples aren’t models.
Most couples haven’t done this before.
Most couples just want to enjoy their day without feeling like they’re in a photoshoot.
And from my point of view …..
You don’t need to know your angles.
You don’t need a Pinterest-perfect plan.
You don’t need to suddenly become “photo people.”

Please just focus on creating a day you can ENJOY!
I’ll guide for photos when it’s helpful (where to look, where to place hands).
Then I’ll step back when needed. 
And I’ll capture all the photos that feel natural, not staged.
The best photos don’t come from knowing what to do.
They come from feeling comfortable enough to forget the camera is even there.

And Imagine this for a second…. Imagine you both actually ending up ENJOYING the time having photos taken ! 😄

Getting married at Norwood Park Estate? Here’s why this venue is a dream for couples AND for photography 🤍

You get the feeling this is going to be a stunning venue from the minute you drive up!

Throughout every room natural light flows through (number 1 most important point for great photography) , and every area has its own character. The stairwell, the lake, the surrounding scenery , wherever you turn, it’s all just ‘wow’ 🥰

There is enough space for both of you to get ready, from the space in the orangery to the bedrooms upstairs. - The venue is exclusive so you get to spread out throughout the whole building!

There are THREE places to choose from for your ceremony, you can even have an outdoor ceremony if you choose.

I love looking back over these photos of Megan & Aaron’s day ♥️ and from their point of view on what they had to say about booking Norwood for their day: ‘It was the general feeling of the place. The scenery everywhere you look was stunning. The lake was beautiful. Each individual room had its own personality. When we compared it to everywhere else we looked at, nothing topped it for us. Meg loved the stairwell (where you took some amazing photos). The value was a big thing for us too. The staff were amazing and I can’t thank them enough for looking after us. Meg loved getting ready there in the Orangery. The food compared to other weddings was really good. The staff really made the day feel better. We deffo felt like we had found a little hidden gem. 🤍

December weddings ♥️ - Yorkshire

So much love for Poppy finding me and having me photograph her wedding after she had first got in touch with her local photographer who said her wedding wouldn’t be possible due to the afternoon light (or lack of 👎🏼) .
And honestly… I love that honesty. Winter light can be challenging and not every photographer does feel confident shooting in different / low light.

But I am so glad that conversation led my way ♥️

We had a chat before the wedding about how photos would work before and after sunset , and we did have to work some photo timings out around the sun setting 🌅

Poppy spoke about how they wanted to capture family and friends faces enjoying the day ♥️ Which was obviously right up my street 🤩

I love how beautifully they decorated their venue - their local hall with a marquee adjoined… (which was a choice they had made since no wedding venues felt personal enough for them ) ♥️ And this way guests only had to walk across the road after the church ceremony.
The dogs were involved, the kids were involved, vintage tractor trip, smoke bombs , Christmas trees, fairy lights, horn blowing, brass band, pies, silent disco , WKD’s and the list really does go on 😄 🎉
