🙋‍♀️ Hands up if you prefer Adults Only sites 🙋‍♀️

If you prefer the peace and quiet of Adults Only sites, so you can visit at any time of the year - even School Holidays - then Tranquil Parks are for you. The majority of them accept dogs but make sure you check the description for each site. If you haven't been to a Tranquil Park before then you are in for a treat. The photo is of one of our favourite sites, which is part of the Tranquil Parks group of sites, Old Oaks Touring, Camping & Glamping for adults.

There are sites all over the UK so there is sure to be one where you want to visit. Check them out‼

❓ How do you chill out when you are away❓

Once upon a time, we had the worst neighbours imaginable but, thankfully, they have now moved on. Back then, we actually needed to get away for a few days just to have some peace. We used to dread going home again but that time away was enough to have helped us have a very much needed reset. These days, our neighbours are absolutely lovely and we miss them when we are away. We don't feel like we are going away to get away from something any longer. We are going away purely for a change of scenery and to enjoy a different place.

Life still has its challenges as it does for everyone, but our trips away feel a lot different now. When we are away, we feel we can pretty much forget about things and relax properly. We can have a cup of coffee and read a book in peace. We can go for a walk and see what wildlife we can spot or we can call in a bar for a drink and sit and watch the world go by.

What started as an escape from our neighbours has ended up being a fabulous way to get away. We've been inspired here by the book, "It Started with a Van" by the fabulous YouTubers St Christopher of Atlantis If you haven't seen their YouTube channel then we'd definitely recommend it. I've read the book and Mrs CP has just started it. It's a lot of fun‼

🔞 Adults Only Caravan Parks - No Dogs 🔞

Quite a few people mentioned they were interested in Caravan Parks that don't allow children or dogs so, here is the link for anyone who would like to join. We have never stayed at a site without children or dogs, however, there's always a first time for everything‼

If people and dogs have been getting on your nerves and ruining your trips away then maybe check out if there is a Caravan Park in the area you want to visit:

🤔 Is this fair? 🤔

We've seen several posts from campsites about dogs off lead in the past week and also a caravan park has announced it's going pet free because of problems with dogs. The issues seem to be getting worse and park owners have been posting to ask what is going on!?

We've had a few problems recently where dog owners deliberately had their dogs off the lead (they were throwing balls for them). We don't stay on sites that allow dogs to be off the lead so don't understand why this is happening either! We've seen replies on some social media posts saying things like, "My dog doesn't like being tethered up and he's no bother to anyone so I'm not going to do that to him". Therefore, it seems people are consciously booking pitches in the knowledge that dogs must be on a lead or tethered up, with no intention of doing so.

Why would anyone take a dog away to somewhere unknown to them, with so many variables of other dogs, children, people towing caravans in and out, and put them at risk in this way? Also, why would anyone think it is acceptable to put other dogs and people at risk too? We've heard it so many times, "My dog is as gentle as a lamb" and then we have seen the dog run up to another dog and start barking aggressively and the owner of the on lead dog has had to try and get their dog away from this off lead dog.

We know what you're going to say - we must be dog haters! That's what people say when you mention things like this. Our friends have a new dog and we've been seeing her since she arrived home and we both love her to bits. Mrs CP has random dog allergies but is not allergic to her so it feels great for her to spend some time with a dog without having issues - so we're really not dog haters!

Have you noticed an increase in dogs off leads/not tethered up? What is the answer? How can this be dealt with without being unfair to responsible dog owners?

🌧 Is this really summer? 🌧

The summer Solstice is just ten days away but it feels more like November. If it wasn't for the longer hours of daylight and lighter mornings, you could be excused for believing this. It's not long ago we had thirty degree heat but, today, the weather has got to the heady heights of eleven degrees up here. Yes, you read that correctly - eleven degrees‼ We cannot help but feel sorry for the poor folks at Download Festival, now known as D R O W N L O A D. It looks absolutely squalid there, and with all those people walking backwards and forwards over the same areas, it has become a dark grey quagmire of mud. We've been in the same situation, mud stuck to the bottom of our boots and everything is soaking wet and dirty. Pretty normal for festivals really but it's definitely ughhhh‼

Climate change is certainly having an effect - if you don't believe in climate change, your comments are not for this Page (they will be removed). We've had June weather like this before but not for several years. We seem to remember 2007 being something like this and, possibly, 2015. It looks like this may be another one of those years. We were promised another heatwave but, looking at the weather charts, are the chances of this slipping away? Whatever happens, whatever the weather, our time away is precious and we will make the best of it. We don't take a TV with us so we pack books, crafts and a little Bluetooth speaker for periods of poor weather.

Mrs CP doesn't really like it too hot but even she is asking, "Is this really summer?" 😆

🥱 What really bores us at Chilli Pod HQ 🥱

We know we are not the only ones bored with AI created content! It seemed fine to start off with, when used for a bit of fun, but we feel people are starting to rely on it to create their everyday content. We know, from discussions with others, it is one of the things people dislike and are starting to push back on. Would you rather see content created by a robot or would you rather see content created by other human beings? We are all blessed with a brain so we cannot understand why people think AI is preferable. For example, create a post with AI that describes the perfect time away. The text seems to flow and sounds great until you realise it is heavily flawed. The words are too flowery, somehow wrong, glaringly not human and just not right. You may have had an amazing trip away so please tell us about it in your own words.

We understand Facebook may give your posts preferential treatment if you use AI but that's just manipulative as far as we are concerned. If everyone refused to read AI created posts and just skipped past them, like we do, then that wouldn't work out too well. We have used it in the past for enhancing some photos and things but what we noticed is that there is always something not right with the finished article. Mrs CP will not touch anything AI related now and refuses to read posts or anything a business has posted that has been created with AI. This is a real problem and it will take livelihoods away from people. We think it is making people lazy and AI content stands out like a sore thumb!

We've touched on all this before but we are getting truly fed up as every other post we see is an AI created post/poster/flyer. If you are using AI to create content, we hope this post will hit the right spot and you will take a step back from it and have a think. We aren't against AI, when used in the right way, but the AI we all have access to is just learning from us and scraping the internet and social media and coming up with the nonsense many people post. It is, quite literally, tripe in tripe out!

Keep it real‼

🤔 What do you keep in yours? 🤔

We now have a lovely front opening fridge in our Eriba which we both find much easier to use than the top opening fridge we had in our Go Pod (newer models did have a front opening fridge). It means we can find things easily and store things more efficiently. We can also get things out and pop them back in quickly so that we aren't having the fridge door open too long. It's great that we don't have to get everything out to try and find something that is, invariably, at the bottom of the fridge 😆

We keep Enrico on a storage site so we travel to him with fridge essentials in a coolbox. On our next trip out, we are going to be travelling around. Therefore, when on the road between sites, we are going to take anything heavy out of the fridge and we'll put those things back in our coolbox. We were thinking of leaving food in the fridge on our next trip as we will be going to a few different sites. We have a plan to stop things moving around whilst travelling but we are interested in what others do?

If you keep your caravan, campervan or motorhome at home, do you cool the fridge down first and travel with items in your fridge? If so, what items do you keep in yours and how do you stop things moving around inside it? It's just not something we've ever thought of before.
